I have a Trane xr12 air conditioner. I turned off 230v breakers at the air handler, cleaned the filter and turned the breakers back on. now the compressor doesnt come on. I checked the relay on the...

Is the blower coming on inside? If it isn't, try tripping both breakers again. If the blower is working, your thermostat may be timed out or the air cond may have a timer in it that will keep it from coming on for a few minutes.

If none of the above work, make sure you didn't pull any wires off when you pulled the filters out.

Breaker box clicks on then air conditioner still running but warm

When you say breaker box clicks and then warm air, are you referring to the actual breaker switch in your power panel, or clicking at your ceiling assembly? When the breaker trips, the air conditioner should shut down completely, is that what happens? The compressor kicking in and out could cause circuit breaker to trip. Did the electrician record incoming voltage supply, and what was it ? 115 volts?

Goodman ck36-1a not turning on

ok, you have turned the thermostat to the cooling setting? and turned the temp setting down, so the blower comes on.
As far as the outdoor unit, first thing to do is check the breaker in the electrical panel, next check the disconnect box, that should be located on the wall near the outdoor unit.
It will have a breaker or a set of fuses, that need to be checked, if it has fuses, they have to be tested with a ohm meter, and you cannot tell anything about their condition buy looking at them.
Good Luck.

Outside unit will not turn off

A couple of things can cause this;
the contactor points in the outdoor unit are pitted and sticking together, take the handle end of a screwdriver and tap the contactor, or turn off the breaker and see if the contactor points open. This problem can be frustrating as it can be hit and miss.
Even after this, if it is still running, disconnect the 2 thermostat wires, if it shuts off, you might have thermostat wires touching each other behind the thermostat.
Give this a try,
Good Luck.

Wont turn on

When you turn on the cooling, does the blower inside run? On the indoor unit, is it a air handler or a gas furnace?
If the indoor blower runs, then the eastiest thing to check is the A/C breaker and near the A/C there should be a disconnect box, usually has fuses located inside of it,,,,,turn off power at the breaker before opening the disconnect box, the fuses will have to be ohmed out, you can't tell anything just by looking at them.
What brand is the system?
On the thermostat, if you switch the fan to the "on " position, does the fan come on?
Please check this stuff out, and get back to me and we'll see if we can figure it out for you.

Check for fuses in the 24v wiring. Was anything running outside? The 24V X-former is located in the air handling unit. check for voltage on the air handler. if present, check output voltage at X-former. You should have 24V
