Question about Compaq CQ60-215DX Notebook
I have a Compaq CQ60-215DX with a cracked LCD. I've found replacements for it online but all the instructions that I've found are generic and show removing screws from the bezel to remove the LCD. This model does not have any screws on the bezel and I'm wondering how to remove it to replace it? I would like to know if I can fix it before I order the parts.
I have a CQ60-220US HP Compaq and access to the LCD screen was different than others I have disassembled and replaced the display. The bezel is snapped on, the lid does not lay back flat to access the two hinge screws, but there are 2 screws with rubber covers down by the hinges, not all the way around.
I used a right angle phillips screw driver and was able to remove the bottom screws, popped off the bezel the remainder of the way around the screen, it is different, but don't be fooled there are a few screws just not the amount you might be used to, and then gaining access to one of the hinge screws on each side can be an issue as the lid did not lay back flat, but with a good right angle screw driver you can get it done, I did. I am not sure if the proper method is to not just remove the entire top cover and hinges, but the right angle screw driver and finding that this model had only a couple bezel screws made it much easier to tackle.

I have removed LCD screen on quite few laptops. Most of them do have a combination of screws and plastic clips the secure the bezel to the lid and with double sided tape to the LCD screen.
The screws are hidden with plastic covers over the screw heads and need to be lifted off to get access to the screws.
Some screws may be located on the edge of the lid/screen.
Also the video cable/connector that connects the LCD screen to the motherboard would be located between the keyboard and the hinges. This may be access by removing the plastic panel which houses push buttons and LED indicators. You may have to remove the whole top of the case if it is in one piece to get to the video connector.
