Question about Apple PowerBook G4 Mac Notebook

1 Answer

Typing moves? When I'm typing sometimes the curser randomely moves to another part of the screen and fllls in what I'm typing in a different place on the screen.  It actually happens quite often.  For example, when I am typing this, the curser moves suddenly to line 1 of my type and starts putting the letters there.  I hope this explanation makes sense.  I was told by one tech support person that it sounded like my trackpad needed to be replaced, but don't see how that has anything to do with it as the only time the curser moves is when I'm typing.

It could be that your hands are brushing against your trackpad.

I think the problem might be in your laptop screen, did you try to turn it on in different positions,I mean the part between keyboard and screen might be broken.I suggest you first reinstall windows/mac or whatever, then try in different positions(move you'r screen up down),and if nothing work, take it on service :/

Overly sensitive keyboard curser while typing on my Acer Aspire 7551-7422

Sometimes the heat from your hand passing near the touchpad is enough to move the cursor. I hate that too. If it really bothers you then you could always use a wireless mouse and disable the touchpad in "Device Manager"

Make sure that you are not placing the hand on the touchpad while typing.... This might be due to the drivers issue with the touchpad.. Try to unistall the drivers of touchpad from the device manager.. Then install a fresh copy from the dell website(www.support.acer.com).. If the issue is yet to be fixed please contact Acer to replace the touchpad....

Sounds like a loose connection at the inverter board. Laptops use an inverter to step up voltage to drive fluorescent tube(s). The problem could be at the inverter or at the tubes.

When i type the curser puts the text all over the place- what is the apparent problem

If you are "cursing" at the "cursor", you are the "curser".

Keep your thumbs and palms away from the touchpad.
Sometimes, you don't have to make contact with the touchpad
for it to move the mouse.

Or, your computer has a computer-virus, and some hacker has "remote-control" of your computer, and is moving your mouse-pointer.

Typing and keyboard issues

If you're using a laptop, it sounds like the trackpad is too sensitive, so that as you type, when your thumbs touch the pad, the cursor moves.  You can adjust this easily in settings/preferences.
