I want to change the MTU setting to 1364

Cablemodems are bridge devices the MTU setting you are looking for would be in your OS or router (easier to set on a router though).

I need to change the MTU settings

To change your MTU settings download a program called DrTCP (google for it) then change the MTU size of your Internet connection, try 1465 and keep dropping it until you get a figure that works...

You can also check out xbox support site for more information on MTU settings here

How can I change my mtu on my wireless router to be able to play xbox?

Xbox LIVE requires a minimum MTU setting of 1364. Usually, you can change your MTU setting from your router configuration web page, which is supplied by your router manufacturer.
Learn how to find and use your router configuration page
Look for the MTU setting on the router configuration page. When you find it, set it to Auto or 1364 (or higher), save your settings, and then try to connect to Xbox LIVE again on your console.

Connection interruption while playing xbox live

Xbox LIVE recommends using an MTU value of 1364(defaults are 1492 and 1500) on your router.

You will need to log onto your Router, go to the setup section, locate the MTU, set it to Manual, and change the Size to 1364.

If that doesn't work, you will need to clarify the following:
  1. How many machines(do you have other computers?)
  2. What router are you using
  3. Ethernet or Wireless?

I cant access xbox live because my mtu is below 1364... how can i change this setting

it's not your MTU setting, you actually need to open some ports in your modem or router. Xbox can explain the port numbers, and www.portforward.com can help with the details.

Change my mtu speed to 1364 for xbox live

On a computer connected to the router.
Open an internet explorer browser. Click on the address bar and type in 192.168.1.1 leave the username blank tehn the password is admin unless you changed it. After that in the first page you should see the option for MTU. change it to manual then after that type in 1392 instead of 1364 then save the settings.

Have xbox 360 and it says my MTU settings are too low. How do i rise the settting.

This is a common problem if your XBOX is connected through a router or gateway. What you need to do is to change the MTU setting of your router. The minimum setting for MTU should be 1364. If you are not familiar with the configuration of your router, you can contact the technical support of the router's manufacturer. You can also search google.com for the step by step instruction in changing the MTU of your router - do a google search for your router's brand and model + MTU setup.

Good luck and have a nice day!
