Question about Cooktops

Holiday Stove Pilot Light won't stay lit.

I have a smaller Holiday gas stove in one of my apts., and the darn pilot light won't stay lit on the right side (affecting the 2 right burners). I light it, I turn on the burners (they flare up), I turn off the burners, and 2 minutes later the pilot is out, and the lovely gas smell takes over the house. The stove is only 3-4 years old. I've tried blowing out the area around the pilot, cleaning the underside of the stove top (had some build-up), and there doesn't seem to be a draft coming from anywhere. What's the problem? Can I replace something on it? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Turns out their was a problem with the tubes on the pilot lights. You have to call the company to order replacements.

Pilot lock light on stove is on so stove burners unable to work

This sounds like you may have to fix a problem in the pilot area before it will work. These gas operated devices have to meet a much higher safety standard than their electric counterparts. It is a built- in safety feature. Now, look for any obstruction or crimp in the gas line. My guess is you are not getting proper gas flow or pressure or the pilot could be physically blocked.

Some stoves have pilot lights, some have an electronic igniters. If you hear a click, click, click when you turn on the gas, you have igniters.

My oven want light its gas and the the pilot light islit

Is this a standard gas cook-top there maybe some small particle blocking the area where the gas comes out and lighting with the pilot. If you feel comfortable try lighting it with a match. First make sure there is not a lot of gas build open, so if there is a window near the stove open that and make you have plenty of ventilation before striking said match.

No spark to ignite gas on cooktop

Shut off the stove. Then lift up the range top and you will see pilot lights. Remove the cover on the pilot lights. They could be blown out, but usually they are just dirty. Take a pin and poke it through the hole, then carefully scrub the tubes with a brush that go from the range to the pilot light. When your done with that....use a long match and light the pilot light, make sure no gas is on when you do this. No flames will come out, but it doesn't hurt to be extra careful.

This just happened to me so good timing!

Hope this helps

Poorly functioning Shipmate stove

Hi

Normally pressing red buttons on stoves is for lighting the oven. You press the button, light the pilot light, leave it depressed for a minute and then that heats up the thermocouple, which opens a valve and allows gas to the main burner.

Shipmate Stoves are still in business, so you could contact them. The link also suggests places for Shipmate propane gas stove spares.

Can't get burners lit.

1. make sure the gas is turned on.
2. Make sure unit is pluged in.
3 make sure all burner and burner caps are aligned.

If you hear a spark and you small gas it should light.

Make sure the burner heads are not clogged.

If this top has pilot lights make sure the pilots are lit
