Question about Kodak ESP 3 Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner

Printing with a Kodak Esp 3

Is there a code you can add to make your printer work when one ink is out and it stops, till you buy more? I hate the fact Kodak does this. My former printer's ink did cost way more but if black or color ink was out, you could still use the remaining inks till they too was out. Does anyone have a solution to this?

NO, not that I know of. I hate this too. My solution is to get a $50 trade in for a HP printer, scanner. check on line for HP trade in. There is one in effect now. You have to buy a printer that is at least $179 regulat price, even if it is on sale for 129, you can get the rebate.
My printer has had 3 printheads replaced, ink, I got 4 4X6 color prints and 85 black printed pages before the ink ran out. Kodak has bigggggggggggggggg problems with this printer.

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

Constantly running out of b & w and colour ink despite fact that I print less than 30 pages of A4 b& w in a year

Your printer's ink could be drying out before you use them up. If you leave your printer without printing for long periods of time your ink will dry out. Try to print at least once per week this will stop your ink from drying out.

First make sure you are placing the right
color cartridge into the right slot.
Most Printers are touchy about the
installation of ink cartridges. If the
instructions say to press the cartridge
into the slot until you hear a loud click,
that's what they mean. If at first you
don't succeed, remove the cartridge and
reinsert it into the slot again and press
on it hard till it clicks.
Then your printer should work properly.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

Printer prints purple

Open the kodak all in one home center on your desktop and click on [?] on top most right hand side. choose maintenance under general links and choose printhead cleaning. if this does not solve the issue, call kodak @ 1800 421 6699 and they will replace the printhead for you free of cost. Kodak esp-3 printer had issues with it since beginning, kindly refer to online views or the reviews before buying a product. i would recommend you to buy esp 5250 as this printer had issues with the working since beginning and Kodak only replaces the printer with same model. And issue still persists.
