See this link for an explanation of the error code.
It will depend what you've been up to, whether this should concern you or not.
Other possibly pertinent links here and here., and instructions on how to reset bios here.
If you are concerned about the integrity of your hard drive, I recommend you run chkdsk c: /f or /r, according to the instructions here and here.
If you suspect malware could be an issue, I recommend these malware removal protocols.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

How to replace hard drive?

The hard drive has likely failed and needs replacement. They have a limited life as they are constantly moving. Fortunatly they are inexpensive so purchase a new one and slap it in. Make sure to get the largest one you can find to give you more record time.

My Maxtor Athena 20GB hard disk is in error

delete the entire partition and do a quick format....
then do partition according to your requirement and try formatting...
if it still says error, then use any disk formatting utility like partition magic and try one more time....
still problem then you should take it back for replacement if it comes under warranty period....

Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media

its basically telling you that your master hard drive with O/S installation cannot be found in the booting system...Check if your master HD is not corrupted and see if your O/S still exist or maybe wiped out..

Hard disk error means hard disk error.
Power OFF and open up the computer.
Check all power and data cables to the hard drive.
Close it up and turn ON.
Not likely to work....
The hard drive needs to be replaced.

This is a hard drive error on the copier. You either need a tech to reformat your hard drive or you need a new one with new system software. They tend to go bad from time to time.

Error codes

This type of error code can occur when installing Windows 2000, if there is some sort of hard drive confliction. If you have multiple hard drives in the computer. Please unplug all other hard drives except the MAIN drive that you are installing on, if the errors still occurs you may want to try installing to a different hard drive as your main drive, or replacing the IDE or SATA cable.

Another option to consider is that format did not complete correctly, you may want to viist the website of the manufacturer of the hard drive you are installing on and retrieve the utility to perform a Low-Level format on the hard drive - this will erase any and all data on the drive.
