It's very rare to be able to buy or find replacement notebook components as manufacturers no longer fix bad boards, they simply replace them. You'd be far better off looking for the entire main board.

You can run hdd disk diagnostic test in bios option.

Have you tried holding Fn key and pressing one of the function keys with picture of display on it?

You need to figure out the amperage of the usb port in the Veracruz, the dealer should have access to that. If the port isn't putting out more than 500ma the iPhone may fail to charge. I recommend a charger atleast 1amp or higher. You either need to connect using bluetooth to the audio system or a hard wired aux cable to the input of the veracruz.

1) The easiest method is to get a USB headphone and it shall solve your problem. You can easily insert the headphones in USB port and can enjoy the music of any sort you like.

Now, obviously as you must already possess a great headphone so my optimum solution to you for time being is to get a USB Stereo Audio Adapter. You shall only have to spend 7$ max and shall be able to get a decent adapter. I am also posting in a link for you if you want to buy it.

Lastly, any sort of repairs can also be done to your laptop. If you can post picture of the damage area and the current status, I would be able to give you a way to mend your laptop as well. But that is for later :-). Enjoy.

I would also try a USB expansion hub with external power to see if yours just won't put out the .5 amp but pass data OK.

I see many comp. with problem on front usb port. In some case USB port isn´t right plug in motherboard, or is everything OK but they don´t recognize USB stick.
Only one, don´t lose you time with that, don´t use that USB port.

is everything getting power?
