If this is a gas oven, more than likely you have an igniter that has become weak and is beginning to fail. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r401858-replacing_oven_igniter_gas_range

Just because an igniter glows, does not mean it is good. It should only take about 90 seconds or less for the oven to ignite.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you solve your problem.

My gas burners do not light for up to 5 minutes. I always get a spark on every burner from the automatic pilot when I turn it to light but it can take from 1 second to 5 minutes to light.

The ignition spark needs to jump from the electrode tip to a piece of bare metal on the burner. Make sure the burner area is clean and dry.

Igniter will heat up (glow), and oven may or may not light for 5 minutes (with igniter glowing). After heating, and stabilizing...once the oven starts to cool, igniter will glow again, and may or may not...

The stove should not take over 3 minutes to light. Even if the ignitor is glowing it is impossible to really tell if it is ok or not. When the ignitor heats up it's resistance drops, this allows for the amp draw to get to 3.2 amps or better and that opens the bi-metal inside the oven valve. The oven circuit consists of a control to regulate temp, a safety valve, a ignitor, and a burner. Any open component and the oven will not fire off. If all the components have continuity and the ignitor is glowing, but no joy, I would replace the ignitor. Usually the ignitor gets dim when it is weak and it takes a long time to light off and you might even have to bump the stove and get it to come on. Replace that ignitor.

Bake oven does not light. Igniter glows for many minutes but no gas to oven. When I wrapped gas valve with hammer it lights!! When oven burner goes out when reached desired temp, it will not relight...

The igniter needs to draw between 3.6 and 4 amps to open the gas valve even thogh it is glowing the resistance may not be the same . Check the amperage and then replace igniter

Oven takes 5 minutes to come on (ignite).

Replaced the igniter. The parts guy told me that the amperage changes with age and use; thus the igniter still glows, but it takes much longer to operate the gas valve with the reduced amperage. Cost - $70.14

Oven and broiler won't come on

It's most likely the igniters in the oven. They cost about 40$ apiece and our oven has two. They are fairly easy to replace.

1) Turn off the electricity to the stove, either with a switch or your circuit breaker.
2) Remove grills, side support grills and oven base. They all just slide out.
3) Remove door to avoid breaking it. It slides off.
4) Remove old igniters, they are attached with two screws. Remove 2 wires from plugs. It might be necessary to lower the front base panel to get to the plugs - the panel is attached by two screws on the side of the panel.
5) Install new igniters, put the door and grills on and you're good to go.

The first time, it might take an hour to get used to your stove, but its really about 15 minutes of work.

Oven takes up to 25 min. to preheat

I would suggest looking at how long before the bake burner ignites. If taking longer than 5 minutes before it ignites, then you are looking at a possible bad ignitor. The ignitors just don't last more than 5 yrs with regular use.
