While I can not personally vouch for this company, they do stock speck parts.

You will most likely need part # 2920741271 - O-RING (strainer tank) It's the o-ring that sits underneath the strainer lid and is most likely cause of your weak vac pressure. Make sure when you replace it, you use a good silicone based lube. It will help the lid seal better and prevent the o-ring from deteriorating faster if you used a petrol based lubricant.

I have a Speck Pump, model E71, only a year old. It suddenly stopped working - it was fine at the start of the season. The problem is that it just hums when turned on.

Since it hums it has power. I believe there is a start capacitor on it, that or the start switch may have failed.

My pool pump is making a screeching noise

Chances are you either have something stuck in the impeller (not likely), or your motor bearings are worn out. If the latter is true, you are about to lose the use of your motor.
Depending on your motor, you may be able to have the bearings replaced. Otherwise, you may be looking at a new motor.
When the bearings on mine were going out (mine are non-serviceable), I just continued to run the motor til it completely failed. Then I replaced it.
If you are the "do-it-yourself-er" type, it is much cheaper to order a new motor online and change it out yourself. Takes less than 30 minutes. Be sure to replace the shaft seal when you change out the motor. I replaced my Sta-Rite Duraglas (A.O.Smith) motor and seal for $150.
Hope this helps.

Most likely bearings. They will eventually break down. You might find someone in your area to replace them ... I suggest you find a back up motor.

I would check the correct voltage is being fed to the pump (220-230v). Otherwise call this guy at the company, he was pretty helpful to me. Remember you have a 2yr warranty.

MY E90 III SPECK POOL PUMP IS LEAKING BEHIND THE IMPELLER. WE JUST REPLACED THE HOUSING O RING. PLEASE ADVISE A FIX

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Replace the mechanical seal located behind the impeller along the motor shaft. Half is on the impeller and half is in the seal plate.

I have a 18" Intex pool and I need directions for hooking up the pol's vaccum. The pool was given to me.

hi
the tricky part is to avoid air from coming into the vaccum pipe and from there to the pump .

1. the first thing you got to do is fill the pipe with water .you can do that easly by putting the vaccum pipe next to the outlet water exit while the pump is working till you see that there is no more air inside the pipe .
2. connect the pipe with the cone to the skimmer , at this stage you might get some air inside the pipe but don't worry .
3. once all part are connected and the vaccum head is in the water activate the pump and open the top screws on top of the pump and the filter to realese the air that might have entered the pipe .
once the air is out and the vacuum works close the screws and you are ready to go .

enjoy

What does SF mean on pool and spa pumps?

SF stands for Service Factor. It has to do with how much overload your motor can handle without damage. Here is some information about it:

http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/service-factor-d_735.html

You should not be feeling any "trickle" of electricity. You are correct...it is NOT SAFE! I would definitely have another qualified electrician check your wiring out.

Thanks for using Fixya.
