Most often the fuse inside main cover needs to be replaced 1-2$ easily done with a phillips screwdriver remove cover look for a glass& metal on both ends fuse go to hardware store with it it's marked in volts and amps with letters after get the same one at store dont try to get a higher power fuse it could cause a fire ps. fuse just pops out of holder please make sure it's unpluged before doing anything

Yes the fuse would be the issue as when fuses blow when you plug in the microwave the clock or light will not come on inside, replacing the fuse with the right amps is a correct proccedure you will be glad you did!!

My over the stove microwave starts continues for a few econds the f-7 appears and it stops

F7 means power to magnetron is interrupted.

I don't recommend that someone without experience and an understanding of the safety procedures undertake troubleshooting this.
You can find manuals and helpful exploded view diagrams for your model here and my favorite parts supplier is here. There is a technical sheet hidden behind the controls that has helpful technical and troubleshooting information. It will say something like this:

F7 Power to magnetron interrupted

1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
2. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem.
3. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
4. Check cooling fan operation
5. Check the magnetron.
6. Check P65 connection on the relay control board.
7. Check the P56/P66 connection between relay board and relay control board.
8. Check wiring to the 1200W inverter and control system. See "Checking Inverters."
9. Check operation of all interlock switches.
10. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
11. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
12. Check voltage at 4903-1 on relay board. If it is 120, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
13. Replace inverter.
14. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
15. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
16. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
17. Replace relay control board.
18. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
19. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
20. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
21. Check for reversed plug connection on controls or loose wiring.
22. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
23. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.

Samsung microwave oven smh8165st

If everything else seems to work, the magnetron is the likely problem which is the heart of the microwave oven, consideration should be given in replacing the microwave because of repair cost.

Will not heat food

HELLO.

The solution to make your microwave oven to be able to heat food is detailed given below.

1 Make sure the door is closed. If the door is not closed tight, the microwave will not function.Sometimes food will get stuck in the door and prevent the latch from working. Use the paper towel to get the food out, then close the door carefully and listen for the latch to click.

2 Check the power sources. First, make sure the microwave is plugged in; the plug may have shifted or slipped partway out of the socket. If it is plugged in and still does not work, voltage test the outlet the microwave is plugged into. If you are not getting a reading, the breaker is probably blown. Reset the breaker for that outlet in your home's circuit breaker box.

3 Reset the microwave breaker. Take the back cover of the microwave off with a screwdriver. Inside you will find a motor. Most microwave motors have a small red reset button on them. Hit that button. Your microwave should work again if the breaker was the issue.

Thanks

How to set temperature in Samsung microwave. 160 c means ? watts.

They're totally non-interchangeable as they're two totally different ways of cooking.

There is no correlation at all between a temperature setting used by electric and fan ovens and the microwave power level, there's not even a rule of thumb. For microwave cooking, the fat, sugar and water content of any given food item as well as the mass and shape are what determine cooking times and microwave power levels, and not all foods can be safely microwaved as high fat/sugar content foods may catch fire.

The machine just stopped. I hooked it up on a breaker and crossed over the fuse. It worked and I could set the time. However, when I put a cupof water in it and tried to run it, it threw the breaker. Is it...

In this case, it's the wiring in the wall and not the microwave. It sounds like you have over-loaded the electrical circuit. Each electrical circuit is designed to provide only a certain amount of power at any given time. The intent of the breaker or fuse (they serve the same purpose in different ways) is to keep you from using more power than the circuit was designed to carry. Otherwise you start could fires in the wall. Microwave ovens require a large amount of power run. If you plug the microwave into a circuit that already has a number of large power-draw appliances on it (like a fridge, dishwasher, toaster, oven, coffee maker, etc.), that's probably more than the circuit was designed for. Try plugging the microwave into another circuit (one that still worked when the breaker was thrown) as see if it works. If it does, the issue is with your circuit load. If it does the same thing to your other circuit, it may have a short in its wiring that causes it to draw more power than it is intended to. In which case, it's not something that can be diagnosed over the internet.

Panasonic NN-S254B How fried is it?

There is an internal fuse, so check that first. If the fuse checks ok, definitely buy a new microwave - losing a neutral usually damages the main circuit board. Given the cost of the board and the distance involved, it just wouldn't pay to chase the parts down

Microwave Fan won't shut off, no display

Depending on which brand you have I would think that the Thermal switch on top of the magnetron or one of the door switches has probably given up the ghost. However, if the display does not come on you probably have a micro or Psu fault on the display panel. Not to be attempted if you are not familiar with microwaves or electronics. Please unplug before opening. Good Luck, JUS004
