It is simple as far as theory goes. But getting the gasket to sit properly and make contact with the face of the cabinet is difficult. I recommend that you put the new gasket inside of the dryer while removing the old one. Do not take the screws out all of the way, loosen them until they are nearly falling out and then put them back in a turn or two. Remove the old gasket, put the new one on immediately by hanging it from the top first. don't tighten the top yet. Work your way down both sides and gently tighten screws but do not snug them down, you want to hold the gasket in place but be able to tweak it if need be. do the bottom, tighten both corner screws and then work your way up the opposite side. it is nearly impossible to check the integrity of the hinge side gasket so do that one first after the top and make it as smooth as possible. The other sides can be seen and you can pull push or otherwise manipulate the gasket to make it smooth. If you need to move more wrinkles, use a hair dryer to gently heat a section and make it more pliable. The gasket has a memory and will take a day or two of minimum use to sit properly. I believe that Sub Zero also sends directions with the gaskets. From doing this for years, this is the way that I have found most successful.

Can I replace the glass on my french door myself? My doors have miniblinds in between the panes.

You need to have a glass shop replace the broken pane because the original one was vacuum sealed and unless you are able to do that then the window is going to cloud over once it is back together. Now if you just want to replace the broken pane and not seal it then you can have the glass cut to size and just install it.

Front door rubber seal

Fairly easy to do. It is held on with 2 wire rings, one on the outside edge of the seal when you open the door and when that is removed there is another one holding it to the outer drum. Removal of the lid may also help with removal of the inner ring. When refitting you press the lip of the seal over the outer drum edge and fit the retaining ring back and then do the same on the front where the door meets the seal. Just make sure the small drain holes in the seal are located at the bottom, best to look at the old one to see how it's fitted before you remove it.

My passenger door holds water in my 2001 chevy monte carlo.

Water will get inside a door. The window scrapers and seals are not 100%.
At the very bottom of inside door area (open the door, lay on a creeper and look up at it) there are supposed to be areas where water will drain. Dirt that gets inside can plug them.
They are pretty easy to see. There may even be one in the very rear corner that you can see without laying on the ground. A raised area in the metal with a small opening between the inside panel and outer door skin.

I myself would take the door panel off and clean it out inside there. Thats not everyones cup of tea. You may be able to use a thin wire that will fit in the opening and push whatever debris thats in there out of the way of the holes.

My pwr windows intermitently work, circuit brk./fuse check out ok. Window control switch continuity checks out ok. Is there a relay I need to replace I can't find the location of were the relay would be.

This happened to me, and I had to replace the window motor inside the door. I have a 1995 also, and the windows seals aren't what they used to be, and let water get in and wear on the motor. It was easy enough for me to do myself.

Can I replace the freezer door seal on a kitchen aid myself?

some door gaskets snap into a track and others are held on to by screws in a metal frame. you can pull the back of the gasket apart to see which you have.

are you sure that the gasket is bad? you can do the dollar bill test by placing a dollar bill between the gasket and door frame and shutting the door. if the dollar bill fits snugly and is not loose the gasket is good. However you may be able to look at your gasket and see that it is torn or warped and not sealing good.

replacing the door gasket can be a little tricky but with a little patience and some very hot water to soak the new gasket in to make it easier to work with, you should be ok.

keep the bottom of your refrigerator and freezer frames clean (this is where everything spills and gets sticky) to keep the gasket from sticking to the frame and tearing up over time.

Tub to door gasket need replace

I changed this gasket in about 30 minutes last night and the appliance place was going to charge me $150.00 to do this. All i did was pulled the steel ring from the front of the seal and then i had access to the inside of the gasket and all that is there is a hose clamp holding the gasket on. I pulled out the old one abd reinstalled the new one. It was actually very simple to do. I am a 22 year old female and i did tis by myself. Very simple no repair man needed. Just get in there and look and you will see how easy it is to do. The hardest thing to do was getting the inside lip of the gasket to stay in its ridge so i could get the clamp on The hose that is at the top just pulles out of the fitting and comes apart to re install in the new seal.
