I have a 1987 Ford Ranger pickup truck. lit properly, but when it goes over an hour goes off running as if it lacks fuel. want to turn it on, turn to 2 0 3 seconds and shuts off. I check the coil and fuel pump and working correctly. when the rest left after half an hour, but turned back on the passage of 15 minutes will turn off. I wonder if I can help I do not know what else to check? thanks.

Does a 1987 Ford Ranger 2.9 V6 truck have a crank sensor? If so, where is it located?

No it just has a distributor pickup coil, that in a sense is the crank sensor. These were a part that failed often.

1987 Ford Ranger Check Engine light won't turn on

Since you have an '87, you most likely don't have one if you have never seen it on. Pull the instrument cover panel, then the three hex screws that hold the idiot light panel on the instrument cluster. The 1987 had a check engine graphics gel, but the instrument cluster did not have the check engine function on the printed circuit board. There is no such light included on that year model, I am not sure what month between the 1987 and 1988 model years introduced it.

1987 ford ranger running fine then run like **** then stop running completly. but it aint firing

the most common cause of this problem in this year is a defective TFI ignition module and distributor stator/pickup, they should always be replace as a pair, to do this you must remvoe the distributor from the truck and then the shaft.
