Still do in fact but to get round it opened windows media player instead. Pointed library to all my Emodio uploads in my documents on my pc hard drive and synced to my YP-Q1 that way. May well be an Emodio software problem yet I had/have the latest version.
Windows Media Player was my answer - works for me.

Gracias anticipadas, saludos
the emodio software has MANY glitches. mine works when i un install and reinstall and then wait a day. sounds stupid but works. OR drag and drop music to it thru windows you can open device files and see items. if video you must convert then drag and drop. dont have unit plugged in and right click video in emodio and move to convert.
Don`t try to use Emodio. It will just not do it. Go on the Samsung site, under support type in your model and download the latest firmware. Also download the upgrade guide (PDF). It is very simple. I did it and got my Q1 upgraded to 1.34 US. ( as they say you will have to restart it twic.
You can only get datacasts from the EmoDio service - Samsung has provided an online step-by-step guide to using the EmoDio service to get datacasts at the following link (requires that you register your product as part of the process, so have your serial number ready): http://www.emodio.com/userguide/userguide_en_emodiocom.html
download Emodio from emodio.com
this is the solution !!!!!!
after the installation , the software should recognize ur device , and allow u to transfer videos
if not , try to reinstall emodio ,
after the 2nd installation , it will work completely
the software allows you to transfer videos to the mp3 ,
or at least convert them easily to .svi format , and then u can easily copy and paste them in your mp3
I had the exact same problem with my Windows XP when trying to interface with my new Samsung YP-Q1 16GB. Hey, it took a bit of Forum searching but it can be done.
Load your Emodio software from the supplied CD.
Download Windows Media Player 10 or above (important)
Plug in your MP3 Player to USB port (hopefully your USB ports are USB2.0 otherwise you'll need to see if you can upgrade their drivers to make them USB2)
If, as with mine, its still not appearing as a portable device in Windows Media Player or EMODIO
Go to Control Panel. (I prefer Classic view where you can immediately see Add Hardware Wizard)
Run Add Hardware Wizard. searches for new Hardware. Prompts for is Hardware connected?)
Look at list of devices Q1 should appear as yellow Q1?
Highlight Q1 and continue.
Prompted for dowload of MTP file.
Worked for me anyway although Emodio software still had problems writing to Q1, Windows Media Player had no such problem.
k this is how im getting "through" it, unistall emodio then downlaod it again... when it (emodio) asks you if u want to run the update, cancel it, im guessing it was something in the previous update that screwed us all over but if you skip the update your MP3 should register fine. Ps: dont worry if you re-install emodio ontop of the one you already have it should keep all your songs registered also, but dont quote me on it. hope i helped !!!
