Question about Alcatel SpeedTouch Pro (3EC18804CCAA) Router

Connecting to orange broadband startup

Have been with freeserve/wanadoo/orange for 4 years with little or no trouble.  Had e.mail to say they closing Anytime down and wud give me free broadband for what I paying now.  Received starter pack speedtouch etc. and installed it by following the modem set up cd.  Didnt work at first had one green lite and one flashing ADSL. After a few days had two constant green lites.  But cudnt use it.  not sure if it connected.  Think im speaking to you on it now.  but it wont let me collect messages from MSN or dial up some favourites.  Sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesnt.  I am a pensioner and I didnt really want this trouble and hassle.  I phoned a helpline and they advised me to swap the filters round and they even sent me a new filter to use.  Made no diffrence.  Foned same helpline and a very rude girl said it was my own fault if I couldnt afford to go on the 50p a minute helpline then I shouldnt have signed up for broadband.  I didnt no I had!! any ideas.  I really cant afford to go on the helpline, an asian man was speaking so quickly I couldnt really undersstand him and he was asking questions from a list.

I purchased a Netgear DG834G Router a little over two years ago when I switched from dial up to broadband. It is the router that came from the broadband provider and following the initial set up which I was talked through by tech support, I have had little trouble with it - at least until a matter of days after the warranty ran out.

Wanadoo router (Livebox) is "open"

Welcome to FixYa.

If you are in France, then chances are, your internet service provider is not ORANGE Broadband? (

Wanadoo router (livebox) has locked its router for their broadband service only or at least an affiliated one.

Try to use the CD that came with it to setup the connection and you will find out while entering your username and password, you will receive and error that says what you entered is not a domain used by Wanadoo.

Livebox will not try to authenticate over PPPoA unless the user has entered a username within a Wanadoo domain.

That is why there is no way to login to it's GUI (http://192.186...).

You can try or (this one should be the correct one)

There is no contact information for France since the internet service provider of Wanadoo operates only in the UK. (

I hope this information will save you time in searching for answers that do not matter.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have a great day.

Router keeps dropping connection

the problem might be with your dsl line. Check to see if it happens with all phones, sky and non broadband equipment removed from your phone sockets. if it still drops contact your isp.

Cant connect to d-link setup when my broadband D-l

I think you will need to reconfigure the router.
Reset the router for 30 seconds. unplug the power and plug it back in. wait for 1 minute and now try to reconfigure the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Broadband link is orange. What do I do?

Check the cables which connect the modem to the phone-jack. Make sure they're all connected and not loose. If they're fine the only other thing you can do is call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to find out why your Internet isn't working. Most likely there was some form of a mistake and your Internet was disabled. A call to your ISP's technical support department will typically clear up the issue(s).

Let me know if I can assist you further.
