Video and audio missing. it is present at incoming cable. plastic around cable input connector is melted. are there history of similar problems and solutions?
Replace with a good quality cable.
Testimonial: "appreciate your quick response. Cable is good = tried another TV on it and worked perfect. trouble is in TV or some kind of voltage polarity problem with other connected devices causing heat at TV connect point. worked OK for 15 months so unlikely it was polarity problem."
1. VIDEO (IN) jack- Connect to the video
output jack of a video camera or VCR.
2. AUDIO (INPUT) L/R jacks- Connect to
the left/right channel audio output jacks of
a video camera or VCR.
Note: The AUDIO (INPUT)L jack is for
mono input. The sound is heard from both
speakers. Use this jack for monaural audio
equipment to be hooked up.
OK.

problem is inside TV. I put another TV on same cable and signal is perfect.
Heat causing a cable to melt is quite unusual, and a potential fire hazard. Next step is to take the unit in for service. I wouldn't risk leaving this plugged in!
Thks Mark. wise advice and I have unplugged. calling service center tomorrow.
