I Have a Schwinn Deluxe 7 bicycle. I want a basket for the front handlebar but the design makes it difficult with the spring and headlight. Are there any baskets designed to fit this style bike? Please help Mary

Adjust handlebar height on Schwinn Varsity

I'm answering 7 years later. I have a Schwinn Varsity 2500 Bike made probably in 2015. The Schwinn Varsity Bike is not set up the same way as a traditional bike. I loosened the center compression bolt and the two side stem clamp bolts and it came loose where I can adjust it up or down but, there's nothing to tighten the slack up below. I did some research. My original post here was to add or remove a spacer. I think you can remove a spacer to lower but, I don't think the stem is long enough to add another one. I've seen they sell an extension that you can add-on to make the handle bars higher.

Adjusting the angle of the handlebars on a schwinn avenue

I have a mens schwinn fifth avenue, and it has threadless handlebars. I wanted to adjust the angle and found a nut that adjusts it that is on the front of the neck that is angled so its pointed towards the tire, hooray ,,because those two that are at the angle position on the bars dont work foe that purpose or any really, just there to frustrate you.

I have a schwinn fastback road bike. I want to know how to raise the handle bars?

http://www.sheldonbrown.com/handsup.html

A major limitation is the steerer tube length. No matter how many times you cut a steerer tube it won't get longer.

Getting Riser Bars or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best and least-invasive option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.

A reputable Bicycle Shop would have fit the bike to you before you took it home.

How to raise the handlebars on a 1969 schwinn fair lady

loosen the center bolt at the handlebars,, do not remove it, just make sure its real loose, then place the front wheel between your legs, and work the bars back and forth lifting as you do ,, once you get the desired height, tighten the bars once they are aligned again with the front wheel

Hi, Not a novice in the assembly dept., but the Schwinn easy steer trike is a KILLER! Should I use the excuse that this is the 4th assembly I've done today? #!. Do the smooth-top screws hold the seat...

Take a little trip to www.schwinn.com They have instruction manuals, videos and most importantly a customer service line with someone that can walk you through their specific product.

It should not be that difficult for someone who is not a novice to put the trikes together, something is definitely wrong. Double check on the schwinn site that you have the correct assembly manual and parts list. You still have time, don't panic yet.

The bolt for the handlebars to loosen is too tight and i can't loose, what can i do?

Get a metric wrench before you strip it. Also, make sure that you are turning the right way. Make sure that you do have the handlebar stem in at least 2 1/2 inches in the front tube.

I need help putting together the front forks/handlebar assembly

Hi in the headset there is a ballbearing set for the top and bottom. Insert fork through position. From the top you can slide the handlebar over the extension. Make sure that you align correctly. Then fasten with the allen key.

How do you raise the handlebar of a Schwinn Ridge AL 26" bike? I want to add a child carrier and I need to raise the handlebar to make it fit.

The handlebars stem is an Aheadset-style and as such has spacers below it to set its height. Once the steerer tube is cut to fit the combination of stem and spacers there's no going UP, only down. Stems can be replaced with different rises and lengths. Maybe that would help. A Bicycle Shop would have everything you need and the know-how to decide if you can mount the child carrer.
