Getting same green film on top of water that is the same color green as the copper piece in the salt water pump has turned

The two green colors may be associated somehow but when you say anything about green water I think it is more likely the water is turning green from algae. The best way to rule this out is to test the chlorine level and then shock with vinyl shock to about 10 ppm. If it is algae then the it may be cloudy but should turn more blue rather than green. If other chemistry is good such as salt concentration and stabilizer then running the pump, filter and chlorinator according to the Intex manual. When a pool is shocked the filter can get dirty quickly and then reduce the flow. For this reason make sure you clean the filter. I hope this helps.

Just purchased and installed Intex salt water system. It shows low flow and now, after 5 days of installment, the water is completely green (expecting Swam Thing to come out!) I need your guidance to...

Seems like you may not have the pump and the salt chlorinator in sync... If your water is dark green and not a big pool, you may want to drain and refill, if you have a large pool, you may want to shock and then try the following...
1.Make sure you have added the correct amount of salt...
2.Set your timer for your pump for 12 hrs.
3.Wait 15 minutes and then turn on your intex salt water system..
4.Set you hrs of operation on your salt water system for 10 to 11 hrs...
5.After running the system for 3 days, check your chlorine level..

If water clears and chlorine level is high, adjust the time.. You will have to re-sync the pump and chlorinator.. If the pump turns off before the chlorinator finishes it's cycle, you will get a "LOW FLOW" alarm..
I hope this helps and good luck.. Please rate and comment on the information provided.

I have an 18 by 48 Intex easy set pool and have had a high salt reading I emptyed about a 1/3 and ran clean in but still to high now its turning green what do you suggest I shock it with?

For your pool size you should have started with 160 lbs of salt. 18x48= 6,400 gallons of water. The manual says the only way to lower salt is to partially drain and refill with water, I do not believe there is anything you can add to remove salt. I would think you can throw in some regular chlorine shock to get the green out while you are adjusting the salt level.

5 days ago the water in my pool went green. I have tried everything, I have adjusted the ph level and clorine, I have added copper sulphate, and anti algae. I have also tried a shock treatment, and have...

you may have an underlying problem like phosphates or damage filter cartridges. Have the water tested for phosphates and inspect the filter cartridge(s) for any damage around the ends where it makes the seal to the filter body. Stay away from copper sulfate as this can lead to staining. Try using a polyquat60 type of algaecide or a colloidal silver type. Algae particles are microscopic, if the water turned green and not just the walls, chances are you may have to drain it and start again. There are some products like fiberclear that can increase the filter efficiency temporarily to help clear it up. You should be able to find it at your local pool supply store.

CLOUDY SALT WATER POOL

salt does not solve your problem.
People do no realize that all the salt does for you is that it eliminates having to pour regular chlorine in.
Everything else stays the same as a normal pool with just plain ole h2o

The dilema is that intex filters are to small for the job that needs done especially in your case now that you have the dreaded green monster

your solution is to first get it cleared up
shock your pool with 2 gallons of liquid chlorine and then filter filter filter
You will need to brush the dead algea and vaccum once or twice a day for a couple of days and you must clean that cartridge 3-4 times a day with the garden hose
you will be surprised how much green it will trap

once pool starts to clear and the chlorine level starts to come back down from Mars you can start using your generator again.
you will need to find the amount of time thatorks for you but 3-4 hours will not cut it in the hot weeks

Chlorine consumption is due to #of bathers, heat ,sun, rain so any given day will dictate a different amount of generation needed keep it high so you do not get algea again about 3.0

you also got algea because you were not stiring up the pool enough you again need to filter filter filter every day
try to find some of my other postings with more specifics

My salt is high, does this cause pool water to turn green? why is my pool water green?

t is too high, the generator shuts off so no chlorine is being created; hence the green pool. Drain water and add fresh until the salt level is diluted back to the range your generator manufacturer suggests and your chlorine will return. In the mean time, shock the pool to get rid of the algae and the generator should be able to maintain it from there.
