2. AC adapters are recommended when using a notebook PC or a HDD/SD video camera with the VideoCam Suite. If a battery pack is used to power the HDD/SD video camera or the notebook while recording or previewing motion pictures or still pictures, they may not be recorded, previewed, or copied to the PC Hard drive properly.
3. Standard configurations must be used for the fonts and screen settings for Windows(R). Depending on the settings, characters may not display properly.
4. It is impossible to use VideoCam Suite simultaneously with other motion picture editing software or video capture products. Note that this software may not function properly if software with a timer recording feature in the background is running.
5. This software will function properly only when the system time is set to a value within the following range. From 0:00 on January 1, 1970, to 23:59 on December 31, 2037 If the system time is set to a value outside the range listed above, the software may not start or function properly.

Motion pictures may not be recorded properly if any other application software is used while recording the motion pictures. Close all other application software and any resident programs, such as virus scanning software. We recommend closing all other applications and resident programs, such as virus scanning programs, before starting this software. Panasonic SDR-H80, Need service pack for video cam

I hope you have WIN XP on your computer. Windows XP has 3 versions of service pack (SP) available. SP1, SP2 and SP3. For more information on obtaining SP, please refer:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389

Following is the direct link for downloading SP3
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=68C48DAD-BC34-40BE-8D85-6BB4F56F5110&displaylang=en

NB: SP is a huge file and will take long time depending on the speed of your internet connection. SP2 download would fail in 'dial up' internet connection. Also installation of SP will take a long time, depending on the configuration and the performance of your system

Try right clicking on the installation .exe and clicking Properties. There might be a tab that says Compatibility. Click that and choose XP or XP/SP2 from the list and press apply.
try running the install now..

Hope this helps

VideoCam suite 1.0

Just install the Software suite, disregard the message. it may be because the when the suite was released the current SP released was SP1 or 2, when you connect the camcorder make sure that the camcorder settings are set to PC connect (or whatever setting for a PC connection), make sure that the ac adapter is connected.

Hope it helps
