Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have the Deskjet 4180 all-in-one. After scanning several (about 5) pictures in to iPhoto on our Mac the scanner quit scanning. This happened a few days ago. After about three days I tried to scan again and it worked. But after about 20 pics scanned in it refused to scan again. I waited again for a couple of days but it still gave me a message "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)" I very much need the scanner now to prepare a presentation for Mom's 90th birthday. Can someone help me? ak
Try this ive never supported mac but this may be a printer hardware issue so:
firstly go ahead and connect the printer directly to the walljack and then try to scan ,if it does not
while the printer is powered on pull out the power plug of the printer from the printer and the walljack and wait for 30 seconds then replug it and see if this works now if u still face the issue go ahead and call in to hp at 1800 474 6836 and they will provide you with some solution either an upgrade of a printer with a 50% discount or a replacement if your printer is in warranty within the next business day.
the reason I have asked you to do the above is because it seems like the printer may be dying on you. But I hope this works and Wish your mom a HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM MY SIDE.

Most of the time I solve this problem by cleaning the scanner. You have to clean it real good. Take out the scanner bulbs and clean underneath the bulb sockets. You may not be able to do this. You may want to call a tech.

Ascertain that the computer recognizes scanner connection. For example, once ascertained the device connections to circuits been attained, trace the connections to the computer also from where programs should recognize the new feature required. Usually scanners turn on from computer programs. Once click activated would power on scanner ready to capture picture graph displays.
