Yes, personally owning an Inspiron 9300 bought in late 2006, I have upgraded the ahrd drive or hard disk on my Inspiron multiple times. I went from the original factory of 60gig, to a current 750Gig 7200rpm hard drive. Its not an easy process, but its completely doable. Here's what I did:

I purchased what's called a an IDE/SATA to USB adapter, it looks something like this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1416269&SRCCODE=WEBGOOPA&cm_mmc_o=mH4CjC7BBTkwCjCV1-CjCE&gclid=CLiSjMip_K0CFWOMtgodlyWHrg

You don't have to purchase the one on the link, I'm just showing you what it looks like. You will also need something like Acronis True Image. Once you buy your new hard drive, what you will do is connected to the USB external adapter and clone your existing hard drive. It is very easy to do with Acronis. Then you just have to swap the hard drive in your Inspiron 9300. It removes very easily from your laptop with two screws on the bottom and you pull out the tray. The Inspiron did come with a SATA 2.5" hard drive, so you can buy anything out there. I would recommend on buying something in the speed of 7200rpm as you will get better performance with the faster rotational speed of the hard disk. If you need help or further clarification, please reply to this post.

Thanks...

Sounds like bad Keyboard, about $20 on EBay. If that doesn't resolve, then it will be a motherboard.

Try taking out the Ram memory first one stick at a time. Sometimes when Ram goes bad or overheats, it first affects the display. If that is not the issue, here is the link to your service manual.

What graphics card should I get for a Dell Inspiron 9300. The laptop lacks a graphics card.

Laptops are not very upgradeable you cannot add a graphics card to it becuse the graphics it has are built in and there is nowhere to plug one in like on a desktop.

Laptop inspiron 9300 runs very slow

See if the hard drive needs to be defraged. You can do that by going to computer, selecting your hard drive with the mouse. Press the right mouse button and select properties. Select tools. Select defragmentation.
