My a102jamo surround sound speakers and working

The Jamo speakers need an AV Receiver to drive them properly. The TV doesn't have the correct outputs nor does it have the power required.

The Jamo kit consists of a powered subwoofer ans 5 small surround speakers. Each surround speaker needs to be powered by the speaker output from an an AV Receiver. The subwoofer should also be connected to the receiver, but the connection is a phono/RCA lead from the receiver's "Sub Out" socket.

Your TV connects to the AV receiver via the Optical out.

A-SV640 KEEP GOING TO PROTECT MODE

Hi, try powering up the unit with out any speaker connected if it still goes to PROTECT try factory reset if possible.
To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down VCR/DVR, press ON/STANDBY. "Clear" will appear on the display and the AV receiver will enter standby mode.
If this does not fix your problem you should take your unit to service . :)

How do I fix concentric color circles on Jvc av 2779s?

AV2779S--the 27 means it is a 27 inch and a older one at that.

All the older regular sets have a Degausser in them--a coil as thick as your index finger--each time the set is turned on it demagnetizes the face of the tube--happens so fast you never see it.

This circuit consists only of a few parts--most common failure is the posistor (a small black rectangle near the main fuse) breaks loose from the board.

It only has 3 connections on the bottom and does get rather hot--my money is if someone locates it and looks on the bottom of the board one or more of the 3 connections is broken loose.

What will happen is with a bad connection there when set is turned on the Degaussor does not completely finish its job before it cuts off.

If I am right--someone with even moderate skills, a soldering iron and solder gets the board out and 5 minutes later after resoldering all 3 connections----wait 60 minutes plus for Posistor to get totally cool will have a normal picture again.

I have an Onkyo TX-SR506 that does nothing but blink a red light when plugged in. This happened after a power-surge from a lighting storm hit it. Is there any trick or magic key command to get it out of...

Page 90 of the manual describes the procedure for resetting it.

"If you can't resolve the issue yourself, try resetting the AV receiver before contacting your Onkyo dealer.

To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [ON/STANDBY] button. "Clear" will appear on the display and the AV receiver will enter Standby mode.

Note that resetting the AV receiver will delete your radio presets and custom settings."

But that may not help.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Samsung AV-R720 - front right speaker crackles

THIS RECEIVER IS JUNK. I had the same problem with my receiver and Samsung gave me a new unit as it was under warranty. 8 months later the replacement which was brand new did the same thing. Samsung tells me it is my problem now. I should have demanded another unit. the best advice I have is not to buy this product. Samsung won't help you when it breaks and it will break. Nobody seems to know how to fix it.......

try doing a reset on it flip it over and near the bottem right corner of the player theres a pinhole put a paperclip or something stiff and small in the hole and hold it for about 15 secons and see if that helps or you can put it into recovery mode by holding the volume up key while connecting it to your pc

Blue Vertical Line- Akai PDP4298ED

I have an Akai PDP4273M that developed the same problem. Checking around some of the av forums, I found a couple of threads that indicated it could be dust or bad contact around the ribbon cable connections on the video control board. I removed the back, loosened the ribbon cables on the board and used my small compressor with an air gun to blow out the dust all around the board and the ribbon connectors. Reconnected everything, turned on tv and stripe did not come back. Problem fixed! Nice and cheap solution.
