LDS 5811ww- permanent draining

We have a LG LDS 5811WW dishwasher which is 2 years old. Has been working great up to now when it seem to sit in a permanent draining. You turn it on, select your cycle and it gets a bit of water then just drains and drains even though the water has drained effectively. It just won't move onto the next cycle. Can anyone help?

There may be leak into the base of the cabinet causing the FLOOD SWITCH to be on.

If you tip the machine on its side you will drain the flood switch and prove the fault.
TABLETS can sometimes cause foaming and flooding. Or there could be a leak.

Remove the front panel - In the crack where the top and front meet about 2 inches over from each edge there are clips you push in with a putty knife or flat blade screwdriver and the front releases at the top and un hooks from the bottom. Now put washer in the spin cycle. right in front at bottom is the motor and on top of the motor is a silver colored part ( the inverter) look in between the motor and the inverter on the right about 2 inches back - you should see a green light that is flashing ( it may help to darken the room) Tell me how many times it is flashing.

I have attached a diagram of the motor to help.LDS 5811ww- permanent draining - 7edbc65.jpg

It seems like that there is a malfunction in the diswasher's main control board you will have to get it "Re-programmed".

re programming will flash the system program memory and set it to default all the programs will function properly, you will need to get it repaired because you will require specialized equipment.

I had the same problem. It was caused by 1 or more wires in the door that have cracked and split apart. I cut the bad sections out and reconnected the wires and it works now. The LG's are known to do this. LG said they would send all new wire harness but it would cost $200 to have a tech put it in. LG would not cover the labor.

Does Not Dry Dishes

Withe the model and serial number it appears that this dishwasher is less than 2 years old.
Your symptoms point to a failed heating element. That is kind of surprising because this dishwasher ~should~ report an error code if the thermistor does not detect the raising temperature from the heating element.
The LG LDS and LDF models do NOT turn on the heating element in the drying cycle. It turns it on during the final rinse and the dishes dry as the built in fan runs.
So, I suspect the drying fan and related gear is inside the door panel. Do a load of dishes and listen for the final rinse to drain. Then, listen really closely near the top of the door for the quiet sound of a fan _and_ place your hand underneath the left hand side of the closed door for warm air blowing straight down.
If you do not hear./feel what I discribed , the drying system has failed. OH, and if you have any water leaking from the door (right where the warm air is supposed to come out, contact LG service folks and firmly request that they replace the drying parts with a retrofit kit.
Please review this and tell me what works and what questions you still have.
Good Luck and please keep me posted! OK?

Motor removal

I am having a same problem. You can open dishwasher sump assembly from inside the dishwasher and check if something is blocking white impeller. I tried to open impeller and sheared screw head as I did't realized it is left handed screw. Even after cleaning impeller you still get problem, you need to check from bottom and see if something is stuck there. If all right and you are still getting error then it is time to replace motor. In my case I ordered entire sump assembly as my seals were also wornout. Sump assy cost $113 on Sears part direct.

Water is leaking onto the floor from the front of the unit.

You might try a part number 3920DD3005A door gasket, which is a bit thicker than the old ones and should help with this issue for many LG dishwashers.

LD Dishwasher power problem

On the LDS5811 model, I doubt very much that the door switch would cause a full failure.
If you are confident the power is live into the dishwasher, the most common failure with this symptom is a failed controller card (PCB) and will require a service call to LG.

ther is a problem with the noise insulation in the door. It damages the coating on the wires and causes them to crack that can lead to any type of problem. lg recomends replacing the inner door and the wire harness hope you have warranty!!

Lds 5811ww dishwasher e1

LG have a history of E1 error problems.

The controller board can be one cause, however, most of these are caused by a faulty circulation pump.

The impeller breaks on the shaft and does not turn, so it doesn't produce pressure. A pressure sensor activates, bringing up the 'E1" message.

The impeller and pump are a complete assembly.

Replacing it usually fixes the problem.
