Can't fax more than one page at a time

It allows me to scan multiple pages and then when I say no more pages to scan, the all-in-one software closes and my scans are gone.  I want to scan two pages and fax it and it closes every time.

Re: Can't fax more than one page at a time

This can be done using 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS

Scan the document to MS Word 2007, put each page continuously. after scanning all pages, save as "pdf".

Don't say 'no more pages', scanner should detect the last page and continue.

Can you scan multiple pages and get one final document

Some lexmark printer software does not allow this, but the later printers have the facility.

Go to the Productivity suite program.
Find the scan settings and go into it.
Somewhere there might be a setting for scanning to PDF - Multiple Pages. Set it to this setting.
When you then scan, the program will ask you if you want to scan more pages. If you say yes, it will scan the next page and so on, until you tell it you're done. All these pages than goes to one PDF file

I was wondering how to scan more than one page at a time with the x7170. also is there any way to save the scanned document as a microsoft document?

The Lexmark X7170 printer can only scan one page at a time. However, it has the capability of scanning multiple pages using either the scanner glass or through the automatic document feeder. Refer to the Lexmark X7100 Series User's Guide for more information.
For your second question, Yes, you have an option to save your scanned file to a Microsoft document as long as the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer. The scan software is only available on the installation disc (not available as part of the downloadable driver on the Lexmark website).

Need to scan a multiple page document into a pdf. Every time i attempt to do so, it scans each page and creates an individual file per page.

You must get an Adobe program to do that... OR combine them later. Adobe Professional 8 will allow scanning multiple pages into a document I use it all the time. There are also other PDF makers/converters too, to download. Another way is to scan into Word, or similar, and then "Print" as a PDF.

Don't know how to set scanner for multiple page scan into single pdf file

The supplied Canon software is horrible, but it can be done!

Launch ScanGearStarter, choose advanced tab and click preferences button, then select scan tab.
Untick box "Automatically quit ScanGear....." then click ok.
(This box being ticked totally prevents multipage single file scanning).

Now choose simple mode tab, select the document type, dpi and document size.
Now click the green "Multi Scan" button, place the document on the scanner glas and press next in the new window.

The page will be scanned and the ScanGear window will return, just click "Multi Scan" again and place next document, press next. Keep repeating until all pages are scanned, then close the ScanGear window.

This will bring up a third window showing thumbnails of each page, any of these pages can be deselected if required.
The other important step is to choose from the pull down list Saved as Type: "MultiPagePDF".

Choose the location for saving the file and click save.
Hallelujah! .......stupid software.

Scan multiple page with X4550

The 4550 will not allow multi page scanning into a single doc using the provided software. You should try another scan software that is TWAIN or WIA compatible. Those should work okay if you are using a USB connection.

Faxing multiple pages

Faxing using the scanner glass, it would ONLY allow you to do it one at a time. You can Use the Automatic DOcument Feeder on the TOP part of your printer. load all those pages and try to do the faxing. That should work.

Please, let me know if the issue is resolve.

Thank you so much.

What do you mean scan? Is it from the printer to the computer? Or just plain copy? When you want to scan to the computer, you need a software that can scan multiple pages. HP's document feeder can copy and fax multiple pages, so if the software supports multiple pages scanning, then I'm sure it can.
