Typically you will need to replace the lamp. Do not try and squeeze the last hour from the lamp as there is now a chance if the lamp will shatter and scratch the mirror and lcd block rendering your projector with a permanent scratch when projected. If you already have a new lamp fittted then simply go to the menu setting, under installation or setup by memory and there is a reset option. When the lamp exceeds 2100hoursof service, the projector cannot turn on and the manu is not displayed. Do the following:
For VT670/VT470 Press the help button on the remote control for a minimum of ten seconds.
For VT570/VT47 Press and hold the power and the exit buttons on the remote control simultaneously for a minimum of ten seconds. When the lamp time clock is reset to zero, the lamp indicator goes out. Hope this helps! :]

SOURCE: NEC vt460 Projector have a ghost problem on the screen

Hello

Pls Service the LCD Panels of the Projector, Also check the Fly-Eye lens, just next to Lamp unit. This will solve your problem. if it's not then the only solution is Replacement of LCD Panels, But Must check or replace the external RGB Cable first befor doing all this exercise.

The projector came on for about 10 minutes and then shut off

Welcome to FixYa.

The projector could be overheating or the lamp has reached its end of life.

Solution:
1. Clean or replace the air filter. 2. Check the lamp run time. If the lamp time has reached its end of life, replace the lamp.

Use the manual to do the above steps. Keep me posted.

I can't figure out how to replace my projector lamp for an NEC VC 670 projector. A little help please?

You need to use a phillips screwdriver to first snap off the cover on the bottom and then undo the 2 screws holding it in. The manual is here ( page 53 ): http://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_manual_2522.pdf

NEC VT670 - Lamp won't light. Replaced with new lamp, but gives same error. The manual says to wait a minute and then turn on the power again, but this does not work.

I have the same problem. The lamp appears OK. but she isn't coming on. It seems like a problem to start the lamp.
Did you find a solution?

My NEC VT660K wont power up.

Hello.

Some suggestions from NEC support:

Check that the power cable is plugged in and that the power button on the projector cabinet or the remote control is on.
• Ensure that the lamp cover or lamp housing is installed correctly.
• Check to see if the projector has overheated or the lamp has reached the end of its usable life. If there is insufficient ventilation around the projector or if the room where you’re presenting is particularly warm, move the projector to a cooler location.

Hope this helps.
