Will the jvc gr-d73e work with windows vista?

I recently bought a jvc gr-d73e, Ive been told that it is to old to work with windows vista, any ideas how i can solve this free of any charge? i was told i could go to the jvc website and get upgrades free, have had no joy in that department.

providing Vista correctly detects AVC-compliant firewire devices, /any/ camcorder which is compliant with this specification (hence has iLink/i400 connection) should work with it.
