I have had this happen several times over the live of my dishwasher. The problem is that once it snaps off (usually due to a tall item placed on top rack) the tiny teeth in the small ring that fits into the arm don't fit as tightly ever again. The superglue solution sounds like the best I've heard. The first two replacements I ordered worked perfectly, until it snapped off again. The problem now is that the newer replacement parts may not fit the threads of the pipe coming out of the top of the D/W. Good luck finding an original part. If you do, please post here as I will be using superglue and returning the part I just ordered from SearsPartsDirect.com

I had the same problem. Popped off everyday. Use a little super glue on the inside of circle that snaps in. Mine hasn't popped off in over a month.

The upper spray arm came detached, how do I reattach it?

On my dishwasher, this arm attaches with a huge gray plastic screw. If it comes loose, you'll usually find the spray arm sitting in the bottom rack, but the screw falls down to the bottom of the tub.

The spray arm has a hole that goes all the way through its center. One of these holes is larger than the other, so the arm will only attach in one direction. Most of the spray holes on the arm face "up" when installed.

Slide out the upper rack, position the spray arm on its pivot, then insert the screw and turn clockwise to tighten it. The arm should spin freely.

If this arm isn't attached, none of the dishes will wash well (due to a loss of water pressure).

Top rack does not wash dishes.

Possible causes of spray arm inefficiency:
Loading large or tall items in the lower basket which stops the arm revolving.
Upper spray arm split along seam.
Upper spray arm blocked.
Under dosing of powder causing foam and reducing upper spray arm water pressure.
Blocked strainers reducing water to circulating pump, therefore reducing upper spray arm water pressure.
inefficient wash motor impellor (faulty)

Upper spray arm failure

Easy to solve!
(1) Remove the drawers to give yourself room to work
(a) bottom drawer just comes right out -- but you knew that
(b) Carefully unclip small plastic retainer caps at the ends of the metal "glides" for the top drawer. Then slide the caps out of the glides. Then remove the top drawer.
(2) Unscrew the "gear-like" plastic fitting into whose hole you were sticking your finger when you felt that small cylindrical ring.
(3) Now that you've got access to the ring, the solution is obvious -- use it to snap the upper arm back into the gear-like fitting. When you're done, the arm will rotate freely in the fitting.
(4) Put everything back together and enjoy the fact that you didn't have to pay some yobbo $75 to come to your hous and do this for you!

(HINT: When screwing the gear-like fitting back into place, use the old machinist's trick of pressing gently and screwing backwards until you feel a click. The threads will now be aligned for you to screw things together the right way. If you do not do this, you might experience frustration reattaching fitting -- since the piece it screws onto is spring loaded.)

Upper rinse arm fell off. How does it reattach?

usually it will clip to the basket that holds cups and the like, and engages with the water outlet when the basket is slid into position. Some spray arms have a locking ring that, when the spray bar is held in place, rotates clockwise (if viewed from underneath) and locks the spraybar in place.

LG LDS5811WW Low pressure out of spray arms

On the LG LDF xxxx dishwasher family, the Vario feature uses a motor/check valve to switch between "full power" cleaning from _either_ the lower or the upper spray arms, never at the same time. So, not seeing the upper arm spin during the lower arm spinning is standard operating procedure.

But back to your problem. Step one would be to remove the filter assembly again and make certain that there is nothing (debris, broken glass) blocking the white areas where the check valve rotates to switch between upper/lower spray arms. A blockage there ~could~ cause impotent spraying/cleaning.

If there is no blockage and the impeller remains in good shape, suspect a failing wash pump motor. Try to isolate the noise to that motor.

Watch for error codes on the display and report back what you find, OK?

Good Luck!

Bosch dishwasher - top row of dishes do not get clean

There is a screen that you can remove from the sump of the dishwasher to clean. Just twist it to the left and pull it out. I have some tips that you might want to check out if this does not resolve your problem.

Upper wash tube assembly came off back of unit. can not reattach.

We had the same problem with our Bosch 4800 and found that the upper wash arm and tube assembly should attach to the bottom of the upper rack (rather than to the back of the dishwasher). The wash arm and tube assembly slides in and out with the upper rack. When the dishwasher door is closed the tube assembly is forced up against the back mounting/water supply.

Thanks for the help. Like the other guy said the "ninga star" thing unscrews and using the plastic part inside I just pop the spray arm back on. Screw it back and it works again.
