Autofilter ceases to work on large Excel 2003 spreadsheet

I have a rather large spreadsheet with critical corporate data in it. The spreadsheet is 305 rows extending to column GA. It contains manually-entered data as well as vlookups pulling in data from other files.

I use autofilter to look at specific information. However, lately, it has stopped working as expected. ''Custom'' is still listed as an option, but I cannot create any custom filtering. In other, smaller spreadsheets, I get the options of All, Top 10, Custom and a listing of possible data. In this large spreadsheet, I now have Sort Ascending, Sort Descending, All, Top 10, Custom and no listing of possible data. And while Sort Ascending, Sort Descending and All work, Top 10 and Custom do not.

Any ideas?

Sounds like there is a gap between the filter heading and the column data. That's the only time I've seen suggested data missing from the drop-down.

When importing data from Excel 2010 spreadsheet Easy Mark says you must install Excel

If you selected an Excel spreadsheet from the Data Import dialog, you will need to select which worksheet within the spreadsheet contains the label data you wish to import. If you don't have Excel installed you'll need at least Excel Viewer as Easy Mark relies on the users system to view the worksheet.

Download microsft excel 2003

Microsoft Excel is Part of the MS office, and unfortunately it is not free, however Open Office is free and you can do pretty much everything you can do with MS office, for excel they have something called Calc which is a spreadsheet program, it is free and it is good. But if you want MS excel you will have to buy it, downloading a cracked copy is not a good alternative they cause more problems than they solve.good luck

What is excel

Hi,

Microsoft Excel is a commercial spreadsheet application . It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.
Microsoft Excel has the basic features of all spreadsheets, using a grid of cells arranged in numbered rows and letter-named columns to organize data manipulations like arithmetic operations. It has a battery of supplied functions to answer statistical, engineering and financial needs. In addition, it can display data as line graphs, histograms and charts, and with a very limited three-dimensional graphical display.

Regards,
Shrey

I need to import data from access into excel where one column go into one worksheet and other into next worksheet

Acess will only export the data into an Excel spreadsheet with each element of the record going into a sperate column.

You can record macros to get the data to go where you want it to go on the spreadsheet.

Import data from access into excel where one column go into one worksheet and other into next

Can't be done.

Access will only put the data into one worksheet. It is very picky when it comes to exporting data into an Excel spreadsheet.

There are two ways to get around it:

1) You can export the data from Access into two files. One for the the first worksheet and another file for the second workshet.

2) You can import everything into one spreadsheet and build a macro into Excel to cut the information one spreadsheet and paste it into the other if this is a redundant task to do all the time.

Hope that helps you out.
