Our office recently aquired a Panisonic DP-4530 hoping to use it as a network printer. Much to our dismay none of our computers have serial ports. Is it possible to connect this machine using a USB cable and if so how would one go about doing it.

- It does have an ethernet port. I really have no idea what to do with that.
I assume you mean "Parallel"? regardless, you can pick up a "Parallel" to "USB" adapter cable at your local electronics store to convert it, and then install it the usual way. Although i'm surprised that there isn't an ethernet port on the machine, because I believe it came standard with the Printer interface option, but if you bought it used it may have been removed. Hope this helps. Please rate solution

- Setup is a little more difficult on tcp/ip (ethernet) if your not familiar with IP addresses, etc. Give the adapter a try
