I cannot get the PDA to turn on at all

I can't turn it on and can't find the switch for a hard reset at the bottom. Over the last three since I've had this things it only has given me problems.
Lost many time a lot of data because it didn't make the auto backup. I've given up.

unit will not turn on or charge through usb sync / charge cable. item not used for several months and I have been told that I may have to use an AC charger , not usb, to "kick start " charging. please help.

ApprenticeTrya hard reset, mine was off for 6+ months and wouldnt charge. After a couple of hard resets - bingo, fully charged battery.
