Propabely it is a surface disk problem which damaged your files or a virus could do so,try to open the folder by right click and choose open, if it is the same problem then it must be a virus and you have to reformat it, sorry for that .
You have to scan your pc also for malware, viruses.
Either there is an error with how the files are being placed in the device, such as shortcuts, or the files you placed are not supported by the device.
There should have been instructions that came with the mp3 player, try reading up on where the files need to be placed. Make sure you didn't change any folder names (or maybe you have to create a folder before syncing.) Also, doing a quick google search, I found that it supports .mp3, .wav, and .wma files. So be sure to check if the files you sync'd are the right format. (Right click the music file, properties, Type of file: ____) I can't imagine that being the problem, as most music is already in mp3 format.
you dont need a driver. you got the driver w/installation cd.you need an icon(shortcut) on the desktop so you can find and start the program to convert or encode the vid files to the correct format.btw, on the box of mine it is "pmp280c-4". the problem is that when the setup disk installs the software it DOES NOT put the icon (shortcut) to the software on the desktop like it says it did or will! the software and device are ready but one cant find the program. i have win vista and i found the program with: start button on the taskbar (at the far left), click it and then click "all programs" and then look for "media player utilities 5.20". click that, and then right click "video converter" and then "point" to "send to" and then click "desktop (create shortcut)". this will do what the setup program did not do-it puts the shortcut on the desktop.
you might have copied the shortcuts alone instead of copying the whole music files into the player.for e.g if you have gone through the following sequence start>recent items>right click on the file>removable disc then only the shortcuts alone would have been pasted in your player.please go to the folder containing music files and the copy them to send it to the player. else the best way is to synchronize the player with the computer using music software like real player or windows media player etc.you can learn about this in the help (press f1) in the software to know more about it. P.S: please format you player before doing the above actions.thanks
One very important tool when using file transfer is windows explorer. Keep your flash drive connected. Go to Start/Accessories/windows explorer (or with the keyboard shortcut: the windows + the letter e).
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx
