i have recently borrowed my cousins psp 1000 (the original) and want to access my psn account etc. i have a zoom adsl router with 802.11g/b support, broadcasting on both frequencies. on the psp when i go to network settings > infrastructure mode and try to create a connection it will give various excuses as to why it cant connect. i know i have put in the correct wep key, i have tried easy and custom for the ip settings, i have even created a static dhcp on the router for the psp's ip and mac address. everytime i test the connection it will say "The access point was not detected" or "The connection timed out". i've tried everything i could think of all to no avail. any ideas would be welcome.

- i have tried auto detect and even though the signal says 100% it will still not connect. i have found a workaround using a nintendo wifi usb connector as a softAP, but this was not intended to be a permanat solution as my computer needs to be powered on for it to work
