Question about SanMax (HD-339-CB) (PTHD-339-CB) Drive Case

Open Question

Mac can't find SanMax HD-339-CBB -- Blinking red light...

Hey all,
We had cleaners in the office over the weekend. Came in on Monday, and the front button on the external HD had been pressed in, green light on, and fan was running. (Looks like the stapler was pressed into it by accident.) Now, I've got a constantly blinking red light on the front button, and I can't seem to discover the drive.
Help, please! Running the latest Mac OS.
Thanks!

SOURCE: USB Connection Issues

Cat this is your earlier problem reworded - I can see now that this is a dual device. If you can use it that way in Firewire mode leave it at that. However - is it possible that this is a 'switchable mode device and you have not discovered the secret of how to. If there is anything like a manual with this check it thoroughly or get into the makers tech support team

SOURCE: USB Connection Problems

Jackboy, that wasn't a very good answer and it is apparent you are unfamiliar with the SanMax HD-338 External Hard Drive Case which has BOTH USB and Firewire connectors.

I don't have the answer to Redfire's question, but at least we need to understand her situation. She's not getting USB and Firewire confused. She's simply saying that when connected as USB Windows XP has trouble "seeing" the drive and when using her firewire connection off of the external case, she doesn't have this problem and is wondering why.

Hey, this is the first time I am changing the ink cartridge but it doesn't want to come out, even after I press down on the green button. Why? Anyone know?

First open the front cover, you have to pull on the handel in the middle of cartidge with some force to take out of machine. You can put it down on a table, then press the green button to remove the grey toner cartridge out of the black drum unit. Then put new toner in drum unit and put back into machine

When I press power button, only power button is lit green solid and nothing else happens...nothing on the screen...all black. No sound codes. Tried external monitor...nothing. CPU fan keeps running....

yes its motherboard. GPU has failed. Most likely you'll need to get your motherboard Reballed or Reflowed. I have found some reasonable business partners that do this service through ebay. usually runs 80-140 to get fixed. good luck!

Refrigerator has started turning off on weekends for no reason

Does it start cooling soon after the office is opened? It is possible that it is in a defrost cycle right at the time that you open the office. Frost free refrigerators are control by a defrost timer which may be starting defrost soon before the office is opened. Defrost time is 18-22 minutes. Or the thermostat could be sticking in the open position while there is little or no door traffic. When you open the office and check its operation it could be what is restarting the system operation. If this is the case replace the thermostat.
