My PC doesn't detect it after I plug it in

My PC doesn't detect my new Trust Design MC-1500 microphone after I plug it in correctly and switch it on. Control panel - sound-audio tells me there is no default hardware at all. Control panel - add hardware wizard doesn't do the trick either.

By the way, I don't have any sound on my pc either...
