Re: my laptop does not display the creen stay black,
I got two suggestions for ya. First, check to see if the lid switch that tells the screen the lid is open is stuck closed. If it's not, chances are your backlight is bad and unfortunately you would have to replace your lcd screen.

hi Friend your Problem is that your cellphone is not working properly all the functions are working but screen stays black.so it can be happend by 2 reasons.-1>i think you are using slider phone,so slider phones always uses a belt between screen and keypad some times, i think in your cellphone its not working properly you'll have to go any repairing shop and fix this problem with changing your belt..2>if you are not using slider phone then something wrong with your display ,means you'll have to change your display. thnks , for further query feel free to ask ,i am always here for you.
Sounds like your screen is being switched to "Power Save" mode due to inactivity. This should switch back when the mouse is moved. This can take several seconds on a laptop. You can remove this "Power Save" by right clicking anywhere on blank desktop, select "Properties", "Screen Saver" and "Power Settings" then select "Always On" for the monitor.
when you power up the computer pres F8 key thene enter in safe mode.then uninstall vga graphic driver then reinstall it in normal mode.
Aslo check your screeen resolution settings it should be 1024*768
- try to connect you machine to an external monitor
- if the display appears on your external monitor the problem would be the LCD screen of your laptop (need to replace it)
- if there is no display on both laptop and external monitor i suspected it's the motherboard faulty
- send your laptop to service center to replace it (if it is underr warranty it's free
If laptop, check it's not in 4:3 mode Usually pressing the FN and one of the "F-keys" does it. The key will have an image that shows the borders like on your screen. If it's a desktop, check in your display settings. have you got the resolution set correctly?
this problem occurs in the video chipset, because when you hook up the external vga there is no display right?
if you hook up the vga into the monitor it would come display if the problem only with inverter or lcd.
Repaired! This sounde like a fuelty screen or screen inverter. To check this, connect to an external monitor, if the external works properly, then it's the screen or inverter. If the external doesn't work, let me know and we'll run the problem down to a more indepth (internal) trouble shoot.
