sure that you can see the phone's modem in the modem section of device
manager(Preset in Control Panel). For airtel connection you have to
enter the APN(Access Point name) as "airtelgprs.com"
in the PC suite to connect to internet and the dialup number is *99#.
If your pc suite dont have a option for entering the APN then you
can manually enter it here-->Go to
Control Panel>>Device Manager>>Your phone's modem
Properties>>Advance tab>>In Extra Initialization Commands
enter this (+CGDCONT=,,"airtelgprs.com") without brackets and create a
dialup connection with *99# as dialup number using ur phone's modem,
Username n Password field should be blank.
There are two common reasons that a pc slows, 1, if you have downloaded several things to your PC ie: programs, games, music, and/or pitures. This eats memery, even if you dont run them at the same time. Solution upgrade you memery stick. 2, You have regestry issues, ez to fix just buy or download a reg fix program. I like RegCure my self. How ever I see that you have a satilite internet connection? Is this correct? The problem with satilite is that it is faster than dialup, but not by much, yet still much slower than DSL. or Cable and connection and speed is affected by weather. If satilite is all you can get in your location then try one or both solutions. My suggestion is to get a better internet provider first, DSL if Cable is not available. Good Luck hope this is helpfull.
Sounds like you have high speed internet and also want a dialup connection as well. Maybe as a backup.
Anyway, your pc will need have a dialup modem installed in it.
If you already have one installed then you will also need a dialup ISP account. Some times an ISP will provide dialup in addition to broadband. Ask you ISP or call AOL.
Dialup phone lines usually only transmit a minimum of 8 Baud. NetZero's high speed (5X) faster is done by caching pages you have already visited, not actially running internet but loading pages faster on your computer. Check your modem setting, 56k, 112K are normal speed setting to connect. Check your actual connection speed, 28.8 is probably all that you are getting on dialup.
making sure you have the latest drivers for the dialup modem is about the most you can do. not sure if you've considered dsl or cable internet, but its cheaper than paying for dialup service and a phone line. (unless you don't have a cell phone and need the home phone line.)
Now if that is not the cas maybe you are incorrectly installing aol. Start up your aol. If it specifies broadband at login box change to dialup or go to setup and let aol automactically detect your modem. If problem still persists. Reinstall software when prompted make sure you select dialup. Now if you are using broadband and asking for dialup. Or go to the control panel and remove your modem driver, shut down and restart. It should put the modem back. Any more questions post comment.
