Hi
Check to see if there is a little black cube with metal sides soldered to the motherboard just below the on/off switch. my ds was dropped and wouldnt turn on apart from the orange charging light. i shook it before opening it up and it rattled. upon opening it i was very lucky to find the broken part as it is very small. no bigger than this font but in cube shape. anyway all i did was to solder it back in place and hey presto it worked.

hope this helps

DS lite-the green power light will come on every time, but the screens remain black. Will turn on and work fine after 10-15 tries but seems to be getting worse.

It is probably because something hard hit your ds, or it fell on the floor This causes the game generator to get jammed. It will turn on, but nothing will hapen. Get it repaired or get a new one. P.S.- For future reference, put a hard ds cover on your ds so this wont happen again. But something called the Ds Y is coming out soon, so you can wait until that comes out. It is even newer than the ds or the dsi.

My DS has fell into the tolit.

DO NOT try to turn it back on or charge it. Instead do the following:

- Shake out as much water as you can and dry it off as best you can.

- Get a tupperware or other sealing container at least three times the size of your DS and fill it about half-full with rice.

- Put the DS in the rice. Might be an idea to wrap it loosely in paper towel to avoid getting rice dust in it.

- Leave it for a few days to dry out. Every 12hr or so, remove the DS and shake the rice around a bit.

Works for cell phones and other gear too.

Dropped ds, now it wont turn on.

It sounds like it got dropped in water but if you didn't; You should try to take out the battery (unplug the DS first) usually I would suggest just waiting a few seconds and replacing the battery. However due to how the battery comes out, and depending on the height the battery fell from, you should make sure none of the brass pinns that contact the battery got smushed.

If the pins are smushed (if one or two of the pins don't protrude as far as the other) take a safety pin or a needle and try to gently bend them back out to a distance they will definatly make contact with the brass strips on the battery.
