Critical error is showing at startup

If your F35-WQXGA Barco projector is displaying a critical error at startup, it could be due to a variety of reasons. Here are some potential causes and solutions:
  1. Lamp Failure: The projector lamp may have reached the end of its lifespan, or it may have malfunctioned. Check the projector's lamp indicator to see if the lamp needs to be replaced. If it does, replace the lamp with a new one.
  2. Power Supply Issue: Check the power supply to ensure that it is functioning properly. Make sure that the projector is receiving the correct voltage and that all cables are securely connected.
  3. Overheating: The projector may be overheating due to a blocked air vent or dirty air filter. Check the air filter and clean or replace it as necessary. Ensure that the projector has proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
  4. Software Issue: Check for any software updates or patches that may be available for your projector model. Download and install any updates as necessary to resolve any software-related issues.
  5. Hardware Issue: If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, it may be a hardware problem. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician to diagnose and repair any hardware issues.
It is recommended to refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer for specific troubleshooting steps and solutions for your model of projector.

I have a BARCO DP2K-63 Projector. Which the fuse get blow when the lamp is turn on. It uses a F 3.15A 500V fuse. WE have try to swap a lamp ballast and Lamp power supply. same issue the fuse blown.

It may be dust build up within the cooling system or a bad power board. Check the cooling fans for proper high speed operation when you first turn it on. Many times dust fills the fan blades and causes the projector to overheat very quickly and the fuse will blow or if equipped the thermal overheat switch may activate and shut down the unit to prevent fire.
You can clean a lot of dust out using a can of compressed air and a vacuum cleaner. Be very careful if you take the unit apart as the ballast puts out thousands of volts to ignite the lamp and it's deadly to touch the hot side of the power supply.
One other cause can be an old lamp or a defective lamp that's drawing too much power. If you have a good spare lamp try changing it. Good luck,
Jim

Can you replace the Bulb only instead of buying the whole unit, if so where do i get one from? many thanks

I don't believe that you can purchase this lamp as a bare bulb through official channels. It is an expensive lamp + projector and buying cheap copies is likely to be a risky business, definitely not supported by Barco. Prices seem to start at around £3500 GBP (ex VAT) or $5500 USD (ex TAX)

If you are in the UK, here are the 1st two suppliers I found

http://www.london-projectors.co.uk/projector-lamps.php?&brand=BARCO&model=SLM+G5+EXEC

http://www.jp-uk.co.uk/projector-lamps/barco/slm-g5-perf/barco-r9840740-projector-lamp.html

If you are in the US, again here are the 1st two.

http://www.amatteroffax.com/itempagey_invid_1366421801_d_premier-barco-oem-r98-40740-projector-lamp.html

http://www.advancedlamps.com/Barco-Genuine-OEM-R98-40740-Projector-Lamp?m1track=nextag&utm_source=nextag&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=export_feed&osCsid=bceddfd8470265866c6c1dd7172b765e#nextag

Given the fact that it is such an expensive lamp you should be able to negotiate a competitive price. I'd get on the phone to any potential supplier and ask them for their very best price rather than buying off the net.

No start up

Hi there

The best advice I can give you is to take this unit to Authorised Repairer.

It sounds like a Ballast problem ( lamp's powersupply )

Calibrator talk doesn't see monitor on mac

did you verify that the USB port is active and the cable is working? Check under the Apple menu for "about this mac" then click on more info. Click on USB to see a list of active USP devices. If the Barco is connecting it will show up in the list. May not say Barco, it may say unknown device but it lets you see that the cable and port are working. If not replace them or try it on another computer. If they are working then the Calibrator Talk software may be configured wrong, have you contacted Barco? They have a troubleshooting area on the web site.
