I have a problem regarding my SCX4216F unit. Whenever a page prints, whether from fax or copy, there appear two thin black lines that run longways down the center of each page. These two lines are about a centimeter apart. No one in our office can tell if this is a hardware problem a problem with transmission, etc.

Most fax machines would have a resolution selector to vary clarity of transmitted documents. The same would also hold true for scanning jobs. I would discount the possibility of the power supply since everything works except for the quality of the copy/fax. If the printer still works OK (quality of print out) then it is the scanner's availability to copy that is the issue. With current prices of all in one printers (fax/scanner), purchase of a new unit might be more practical not only in terms of cost but in downtime.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
The fax log or Journal is printed automatically after every 50 communications (tansmissions and receptions). If you want to print a copy of the journal;
Select Fax mode and press <Information> icon on the upper right corner of the touch panel.
Press <Print Journal>
An error report is printed whenever the transmission or reception has failed.
If Transmission result report is on, a report is printed every time so you have a record of whether it was successful or not.
