Detergent dispenser clogged-Kenmore 90 series washer

I want to remove the dispenser tray and clean it. I can pop out the detergent side, but the bleach/fabric softener side is fastened down with a piece that goes through the center. How do I get it out?

You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.

Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.

Maytag 5000 series washer leaking.Removed front access panel ,saw water is trickling from dispenser tray area. Pulled dispenser drawer,cleaned/inspected with nothing really standing out as a problem.

Verify that that the hoses from the dispenser tray to the tub are not clogged. Detergents and fabric softeners can build up inside the hoses and cause partial or complete clogs that will cause the dispenser trays to overflow and thus leak. This is a common problem.

Bosch Nexxt 700 Series Washer, water from cold supply does not dispense into detergent tray

Make sure that the cold supply is on and/or the supply hose is not crimped or clogged. Other than that it can be a control panel issue in the unit itself. But first eliminate the basic things.

Leaves detergent in despencer tray

Most of the time this is a dispenser housing issue. Remove the dispenser tray from washer and make sure it is cleaned very well. In the more serious clogs, you may need to clean the hose from the dispenser to the drum.
  1. Make sure the detergent dispenser drawer is opening. This issue occurs due to jammed soap dispenser. Dispenser Distribution System is located in the top left corner of the washer. The system consists of a motor that turns a cam gear. The Detergent Dispenser Assembly is located under the washer top. Begin by removing the washer top, console and front panel.
  2. Separate the water inlet and window washer tube from the boot. Pull the water inlet tube from the outlet connector of the detergent dispenser. NOTE: When reinstalling the water inlet tube, wet the water inlet gasket on the detergent dispenser with water only. Do not use any other lubricant. Align the tab on the water inlet tube with the indentation on the dispenser connector and slide the tube onto the detergent dispenser assembly.
  3. Remove the screw securing the front of the detergent dispenser assembly to the top front frame member.
  4. Disconnect the vent tube from the detergent dispenser assembly. Remove the screw securing the detergent dispenser assembly to the top left frame member. Slide the assembly back slightly and lift the assembly out.
  5. To remove the detergent dispenser motor assembly, disconnect the cam follower spring and lift the cam follower from the diverter cam and rotate the diverter cam clockwise to access the motor mounting screws. Check for all the connections to the dispenser motor or anything obstructing the dispenser drawer functioning.
  6. Pull the diverter out and clean it, including the shaft, spring, etc.

Kenmore 90 series top load. Water trickles in & is not coming out of the whole top area near the detergent dispenser.

Shut off the water valve(s) to the washer and remove the hoses right at the back of the washer (have a bucket handy to drain them). Clean out the strainer screens inside the hose fittings on the washer. While you have the hoses in the bucket, turn the water valve on and off to flush the hoses - if you've had a pressure drop across the strainers for some time, there may be a bit of sediment build up there waiting to clog them again.

If the hoses aren't marked, keep track of which one goes to the hot water inlet, otherwise you'll have to check the temperature of the water running through before reconnection. Another hint - you can use the water in the bucket to mop a floor if needed - why waste it?

Machine doesn't dispense detergent

Here's a few suggestions you can try. First, open the dispenser tray far enough to where you can see inside. Enter diagnostics mode by selecting DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN and pushing ANY button under OPTIONS 4 times (it has to be the SAME button, though). This will enter the washer into diagnostics mode which checks the hot and cold water fill functions, the dispenser tray functions, tumble, spin and drain. Watch inside the dispenser tray to see if you can see any water flushing through the various compartments (detergent, bleach, fabric softener). The water should be fairly steady and forceful. There's not much else, besides gravity, that forces the detergent into the wash tub. Now...if you don't see the desired water flushing action that you should see, check the overhead portion of the dispenser cavity. Pull the tray all the way out for this. There are a series of holes where the water is forced through. Sometimes these holes become clogged and will not allow enough water in during the fill and rinse cycles. It's usually the fabric softener side that becomes blocked, though. You can take some cotton cotton swabs and perform the tedious task of cleaning each hole if they are blocked. I've had to do this before and it does fix the problem. The other possiblities are the fill valve not allowing enough water pressure through (but, you didn't mention anything about a slow fill problem), or a kinked or blocked hose coming from the fill valve. If you wish to check the fill valve, turn the water off and remove the hoses from the back of the washer. Check the inlet screens for clogs. If you have hard water, well water, or BOTH, it is common for the inlet screens to get accumulated with sediment. Again, some cotton swabs will clean the majority of the sediment from the screens (you can use a little white vinegar as well). If you wish to check the inlet hoses from the fill valve, remove the top of the washer by removing the three torx screws along the back of the washer. The top will slide back then lift off. There are a series of hoses from the fill valve to the dispenser. Check to see if any of them have become kinked. I hope this information is helpful to you. Post back with comments if you need further assistance.
