Question about Lexmark X1150 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Replaced Black Cartridge...will not function

Hi Guys,
Have a Lexmark X1180 printer linked to a IQon Computer running Win 2000.
problem is the black print seems to have ceased to function.
History as follows: replaced print cartridges with refills. Colour works well but black one will not work.
Initially black was smudgy but did work but removed and cleaned up...now will not work at all
Have replaced black with two new (different/Lexmark) cartridges...each time still no go.
Have cleaned the terminals and the print heads with cleaning fluid...still no effect
have used the printer softwear to clean nozzles...no effect even on multiple cleaning runs
have uninstalled printer and driver from system and reinstalled....still no joy
have tried test pages and resetting the ink levels on the softwear each time etc
black ink is coming from the cartridge when "wiped" with paper. also tape removed/face wiped so no gunk etc ie good reinstall of cartridges but
seems like no "connection" with the print heads
Any idea what is going on here and how I might rectify the situation

Hi hello i tell you try replace that cartridge of yours. if your still use it, not working.. that cartridge is damage..

Try to rebrick your printer. Pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

There is a possibility of conflict of software since you mention that you installed various drivers for your model. Try to unintall the driver first. Need an x1180 driver compatible to windows 7. Download from lexmark website does not work, Get error that download is not a win 32 compatible file. Please help


Use Vista driver in Windows 7. First, check the operating system installed on your Windows 7 if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit. Go to Start menu -> right-click on Computer -> Properties. Note the system type then close the window.
Uninstall existing Lexmark X1185 drivers from your computer to prevent conflict of softwares. Go to Start menu -> All Programs -> Lexmark 1100 Series -> Uninstall. Reboot the pc when prompted.
When the pc turns on, download the driver using the links below:
Install the file and follow the instructions in the software.
