Question about Televison & Video

Buzzing noises + white lines

1.) As soon as I connected the power I heard a buzzing sound coming from
the television (near the power supply).

2.) There is a buzzing sound coming from the speakers that only goes away if the volume on the cable box is at full. Even then if the TV volume were to put up past 50% it's audible again.

3.) Lastly there is a large white horizontal 'bar' which traverses the
screen from bottom to top. This is most visible when there is a solid
background, the darker the background the more visible the bar.

Panasonic responded to my email in less than 5 minutes! they basically say that it's my cable box or an issue with my home's electrical... 2nd opinions?
Thanks a lot.

Try getting one of your friends (preferably a pepper) to stand back and loose a few rounds into your system. I have a guy in mind who excels at this. Let me know if you want his contact info.
He comes cheap and he will say "hello" to ur little friends!

Hello why do I have a loud buzzing noise coming from my umc combination 21 inch television so bad you cannot here program dialogue ?

You need to send your TV Model first, but in general any strange sounds in a TV come from the followings:
1- High ripple in the power supply of the sound card.
2- Bad polarized capacitors in the sound card
3- High noise in the main power supply (SMPS)
4- For CRT tv, weak insulation of the Line Transformer
5- An external source near your TV set which is picked by your TV and amplified.

I turn the tv on and there is a constant buzzing sound what is it?

Hello
If the picture is correct in all resepect, and only a buzzing sound only comes from its inside circuit, it will be due to a loose core fittings, on any one or two ferrite cored transformers inside the power supply sytem. There are transformeres of small and large types, both in power supply and other boards. We have to find out which transformer makes this buzz sound during working. For this, you have to open your TV, and power it ON, and listen the the sound carefully, and detect the transformer which makes this noise. After finding the exact one, this loose core contact can be fixed with the help of Super Glue or similar fast acting adhesive. Just put three or four drops of adhesive in between the core will rectify your problem.
If there is no picture at all and a buzzing sound like this is heard from your TV, the inside circuit has some short in it and has to be detected and rectified. OK>

I have a samsung hln437n and I have a loud, high pitch buzzing noise which stays on all the time. It sounds like it is coming from the lamp. Any idea what the problem is?

Could be a slightly loose lamp connection and/or slightly loose lamp module - especially if you
have big trucks or railway tracks near your place (like me). Try powering down the TV set, use the
instructions that came with your TV to remove the lamp module, then simply re-install the lamp
module (also known as "reseating the lamp module").

If the buzzing noise persists, then
its coming from a component near the lamp (such as the power supply).
If there's a transformer in the power supply that's buzzing, then its about to fail.

Iassume you mean you hear the buzz independently of the audio program - simply connecting the cable causes the buzz?

If tanything in the mix is powered from different AC sources you may have a different ground potential. Sometimes manipulating the orientation of one or more ac plugs will solve hum problems.

Toshiba 36zp18q buzzing noise.

Humming sounds come from the power supply and buzzing sounds come from other circuitry. Most likely a capacitor somewhere.

Buzzzzzzz

Hello to all you buzzers, I have the answer to your problem. First this is what's happening. The buzzing is coming from the power relay. It vibrates at 60hz because the power supply filter capacitor is not doing its job hence you have a rough d.c. pulse going to the relay. To solve the problem remove back of t.v. slide circuit board out (you will have to disconnect white wire from degauss coil, located on left front) look for a blue box approximately 3/4"x1 1/2" this will be the power relay. Now look for capacitor location #c622 near the relay. This capacitor should be 470uf 25v. Remove and replace with 470uf 35v capacitor, connect white degauss wire temperarily put back on and give it a spin. Hope this solves all the buzzin, robert
