ACCESS DENIED ERROR CODE

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or attached via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and will work with any future cameras you may acquire.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable hard drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

When I connect my Canon PowerShot A3100 IS camera to either of two laptops via USB cable, I get an error message stating "USB Device Not Recognized - One of the USB devices attached to this computer...

I had this problem today and you might want to check this
from PC's menu = go to my computer right click and select properties
select device manager,
locate "canon camera" which may be under portable devices as mine was
There is either a plus or minus sign next to it. If it is negative as mine, delete this driver. Make sure your camera is off and unplugged before you delete it.
Plug camera in, turn on and the camera should download the driver again.
It worked for me - I'm not technically brilliant but basically, the driver wasn't working correctly.
If you can't find the same settings, call customer service - they were great.

My cool pic 3100 was stolen which was recovered but all the attachments were not recovered. I can take pictures but I cannot download them as all my attachments are missing. How can I replace them cheaply

I don't know your location, but in most parts of the western world you will be able to obtain a USB lead for this camera (and other items) by mail order from third party suppliers. I just did a search for "coolpix s210" on Amazon and found USB leads, batteries, chargers, etc. at reasonable prices.

Windows Vista does not recognize Canon PowerShot A80

Vista requires updated drivers for most of the older cameras. Unfortunately, Canon chose not to update the drivers for many of these cameras, including the A80. BUT please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue. Just make sure that you get one that's stated capable of reading a CF card:

Cannot find usb download lead for the Samsung NV7 Digital Camera

The plug-in charger does not come with a usb cable? What i have is a detachable dual purpose usb cable. One that can be attached via usb to the charger and can be connected to any usb port of a laptop or a desktop.

I was wondering because it should come with the package.

Error 99 on 30D Canon

Had this problem before and i found this guide online

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If it does, then the camera should be
serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most
likely source of the issue. Try using a different card.
If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser
or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the
camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
If the “ERR 99′ message only appears when one particular lens is
attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.
If you see the “ERR 99′ with a different Canon lens attached, then the
camera should be serviced.
