Question about Dell Latitude D620 Notebook
What if I don't have disk....
Posted on Feb 13, 2013
a Latitude D620 laptop to the factory settings allows the
user to restore the Latitude D620 to the original operating condition as
if it was just
taken out of the box. Dell system includes a restore utility called 'Dell Symantec System Restore' to reset or restore your Dell Latitude system to factory setting.
Step 1: Before reset any Latitude D620 laptop, backup your all important data and programs, otherwise you may lose it. It is recommended to use an external storage device for your entire data backup, so that you couldn't lose it in any sudden occurring issue...
Step 2: Remove any other unnecessary external drive and restart your Dell latitude laptop.
Step 3: Press 'F8' key continue until 'Advanced Boot Options' wouldn't be appear.
Step 4: Use your keyboard arrow key to select 'Repair Your Computer' from the list and hit 'Enter'.
Step 5: Now click 'Next' and login as the administrator account.
Step 6: Click 'Dell Factory Image Recovery and Data Safe options', select your language option and click 'Next'.
Step 7: Click the check box 'Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition' and click 'Next' to start Dell Latitude reset process...
This process will erase all your previous changes that have been made to the Dell Latitude laptop and reset the configuration settings to factory setting.

I assume you mean factory installation. You need the disks. Unless there is a recovery partition, unlikely on this model. Alternatively you could find an oem windows xp home or professional depending on what coa sticker is on the laptop and install that.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: factory settings required
You dont need to have a disk inorder to reinstall the OS in dell systems..
Dell has a default partition on the computer and you can install with the same..
If you have windows vista on the computer then tap F8 when the computer turns on and then you will be able to see the advanced boot options.. Select repair my computer.. In the repair my computer screen select the dell factory image restore...
Your computer will go through the installation and it will be up and running...
If you have windows Xp then you have to turn on the computer and when the dell logo appears you have to simultaneously press control and the F11key.. You will be able to reinstall the OS in this way..

Acer are cheap and they don't provide you with a factory restore disk. You need to make this factory disk yourself. I know how to do this, but it is to much for me to type and here is a really really good reference site for you to visit to get instruction to make your own factory restore disk. After making that restore disc, pop the disk into your laptop and turn of your laptop and restart and the factory restore program should start, if it should not start then go into your bios menu and have it boot from your Dvd-Rom and save, after full restoration, make sure you turn your boot priority back to where your Os is being installed, exm hard drive.
