Light print of incoming faxes, cannot read

Our incoming faxes are very light and cannot read on the right side of page. We installed a new drum one month ago. Also just installed new ink cartrige this morning. The print is still very light. Is there something else we can do?

Re: Light print of incoming faxes, cannot read

Are copies light too? if not then it is sending fax, but most times it is inferior ink or drum causing the problem sometimes damp paper (try printing on reverse side as well)

When we receive faxes, Only the very right side prints out. WE have a new ink cartridge and drum unit. It did it before we changed it and it is doing the same thing. Is there anything that we can do?

don't know if this will fix prob, but pull drum unit out and locate the piece of glass that runs right to left inside of fax right over top of where drum would be sitting. clean that off. if theres toner coating that glass, that will cause light prints or blanks. this is of course, assuming that you are getting these kind of prints from more that one fax.

Incoming fax print is to light

im not familiar with the particular model. A lot of the small brother laser fax machines will have the laser unit under the drum unit. if you take out the drum unit.. you should see a clear glass that goes across the width of the machine. it is about 1/2" X 9". There is probably toner and dust on the glass.
this will block the laser from reaching the drum. Clean the glass pretty good and this should at least help.

Right side of printed page is faded

pull out your drum unit and look inside machine above where the drum would be. you should see a black assembly that runs left to right with a "****" glass. may need a flashlight. clean that glass off with a clean rag. sometimes toner "scatter" will get on glass and cause this.

let us know,

Incoming fax shows one half of the page

The Thermal printhead is most likely burned out on one side and will need replaced. It could also be the printhead connector has worked loose and is only making partial contact. Remove the connector and reinstall. If that doesn't solve the problem then it would be cheaper to purchase another fax.

You need to replace the drum (DR-250). The drum needs to be replaced every so often. Sorry, it's kind of expensive. If this helps you, please give me a good rating. Thanks.

Incoming fax quality

Are you using genuine Brother supplies? Generic supplies are the main reason for print quality issues. Have you ever changed thr drum unit ? Expensive! You can buy a new machine and get a new drum and toner for a little bit more.
