Damaged Word 2003 Document can't be opened

If it says that all you can do is to open it without formatting or graphic, that's all you'll get. Document is corrupt and you won't be able to open it Sorry if you needed to recover it.
Just as a remote possibility, if document as made by you, look at recovery folder

Tip

How to find a lost file on your Computer?

Today tip will help you to enjoy the quick and easy way to find lost files on your computer. Here I recommends you, try to search a file with its file extensions (for example for word file, type *.doc, Excel *.xls, Acrobat *.pdf, *.ppt and *.exe for executable files. If you don't know the name of file but know that it contains a string of text then try to search for files containing specific text, type the text you want to find from any file or folder. This is time taking process but creates very precise result. In Look in, click the drive, folder, or network you want to search. To save time, always select the specified drive or location instead of whole computer.

Click Start Button, point to Search, and then click For File or Folders, a Search Results dialog box will appear. In Search for files or folders named, type the file name or folder name you want to find in containing text.

To specify additional search criteria, click Search Options, and then click one or more of the following options to narrow your search:
  • Select Date to look for files that were created or modified on or between specific dates.
  • Select Type to look for files of a specific type, such as a text or WordPad document.
  • Select Size to look for files of a specific size.
  • Select Advanced Options to specify additional search criteria.
  • Click Search now.

Unhide photo app

Click start control panel scroll to folder options view place a tick in show hidden files folders and drives
this may vary depending on your operating system

To run the windows find, click start and then click Find or Search (varies depending on version of windows) Finally click the option to Find Files or Folders. This should open a folder similar to the below illustrated example The named or Search for files or folders named field is where you would type the name of the file you are looking for on the computer Click start type in all or part of the name of file or program you have lost or misplaced press "ENTER" this should take you to the file or programs location This field allows the user to use any numbers or letters on the keyboard and will also support wild characters such as * or % The containing text field enables you to search for files that contains text you may be looking for For example you may be looking for a file that contains the phrase computer help typing computer help in this field will find any file that contains these words Keep in mind that some program files such as microsoft word or microsoft excell files will encrypt the data when saved and therefore may be unable to find plain text words such as computer or help The Look in field allows you to specify where you wish to look on the hard drive for the files. If you do not know where the file is located, point look in to search the whole drive instead of just a folder. For example specify the C:\ drive For additional search options you can click on the Advanced tab or click on Search Options (depending on your version of Windows) and get more specific searches For example you can search by date type etc Hope this helps.

Windows run doesn't keep my work history

you have to physically save any work
save the history to a usb drive in case you have computer failure

Plug the flash drive into your computer's rectangular-shaped USB drive.

Wait for Windows to recognize the system.

Windows operating systems use "plug and play" technology, which means that computer peripherals like USB flash drives can be recognized instantly by the system without further need for device configuration.

Open the drive on your computer.

Open the "My Computer" directory if using Windows XP or the "Computer" directory if using

Windows 7 or Vista. Locate the flash drive letter and icon under the section named "Devices with Removable Storage." Double-click the flash drive icon to open it.

Transfer files to the flash drive.

Click the "Restore" button in the top-right corner of the "Computer" or "My Computer" directory to shrink the window so that you can view your computer's desktop background.

Open the folders or locations of the files which you want to save to the flash drive.

Click and drag with your mouse each of the files and folders you want to save to the flash drive over to the empty space in the "My Computer" or "Computer" window.

Release the mouse button to let the files "drop."

Close the windows and directory locations when finished.

Save files directly onto the flash drive. From an open file (i.e. text, spreadsheet, image files. etc.), click the "File" menu and "Save as" option.

Select the "My Computer" or "Computer" directory in the drop-down menu at the top of the "Save As" box. Double-click the flash drive letter under the "Devices with Removable Storage" section.

Click the "Save" button to save the file onto the flash drive.

Close the windows and files when finished

hope this helps

When entering text into Microsoft Works or Microsoft Word, just keep typing as the cursor goes across the page, and then end a sentence, or paragraph, with a period. Then, press ENTER to start a new paragraph, and Works/Word will automatically capitalize the first letter of the first word of the new sentence.

Cannot install microsoft office professioanal 2007 onto my computer. says a setup exe is missing. what can i do to fix this problem

1.Check if the location pointing to the source of installation files is correct. As for eg if the drive letter is changed , change it to point to the correct installation files . ( for eg if you are installing from CD and if CD is mounted in F:\ , then change the drive letter to F:\ )

Or if that doesnt work please try this

2. In windows explorer, under Folder and Search Options - View - 'Hidden files and folders' should be set to 'Show hidden files and folders?' and "Hide protected operating system files?" should be unchecked.
