As advised, reset to factory settings. Then re-entered custom settings as required. Seems OK now. Many thanks.

ICOM or even HRO may be able to provide you with a schematic for that pinout.

Hello, Can you tell me what make of GPS will work with the Icom m-504. I tried using the Garmin 76csx with the NEMA in/Nema out function set, but it will not communicate to the Icom. I would appreciate...

Hi!

We had the same problem with our Uniden Oceanus failing to communicate with our GPS. What the problem was, was that our VHF didn't recognize the NMEA sentences transmitted from our "ancient" GPS. We ended up buying a Standard Horizon cp180 chartplotter. PRESTO! Our DSC capability materialized.

Your 76CSx is newer than our Magellan was, so before you take on the task of a $400 chartplotter purchase, just make sure your BAUD rate is set to 4800. This adjustment alone could make your GPS work with your ICOM.

Hope this is helpful.

Check the wiring again. Installing my M422 needed to switch the polarity of the NEMA input from my GPS75. May be similar problem

I press dsc and see no change on the screen

Many VHFs will not acknowledge any of the DSC functions if the unit is not receiving position data. If the unit is correctly wired to a GPS or chartplotter and you can verify that it is receiving position information, then you may have a faulty radio.

Programming the IC-F11:
I believe one must purchase software and a programming cable to program the frequencies of this radio.
