Changing MAC address of a router is usally not nessicary and can cause this issue. ARP (Address Resoution Proticol) maps the IP addresses of ever device on the network to their MAC addresses. To make this process more efficent computers cache (store) this information for quicker retrival. So once your computer has connected to your router it stores it's MAC address. When it trys to connect again, and you've changed the MAC address the computer will still try to connect t a device with the old MAC address which now doesn't exist.
If you find it nessicary to change the MAC address of the router you'll want to clear the ARP cache on the machines that connect to it. To do so type "netsh interface ip delete arpcache" from a command line.
