Question about Panasonic KX-TG5438F 5.8GHz Digital cordless telephone with digital answering machine
As soon as the answering machine is connected to power, all lights start flashing rapidly. The machine does not perform any other function. Occasionally, after a few months of disconnection, the machine starts functioning normally on reconnection but, after a power failure, the machine starts flashing again. The machine was bought in the USA for use in India. The model no. is Panasonic KX-TG2258S. The local Panasonic dealers/service outfits say the parts may be available in Delhi or Singapore. They say they ordered the parts but got no response form Delhi. Can anyone help?

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

I had that once or twice on my phone. What I did was hit on, off, on, off, about 10 times. It quit for me. Digital stuff is great when it works. Pain in the @$$ when it doesn't. LOL

SOURCE: Flashing lights on the base
I took it to a panasonic service center. They seem to recognize it and said its related to a flash ROM malfunction. Which usually needs to be replaced. In india they estimated the avg cost of replacing that to be around USD $20- $25. I have not got it fixed yet...

Only stupids buy cordless phone from Singapore. India uses ETSI DTMF standard for Caller ID which is not supported by any cordless phone sold in Singapore. It is about time you trash your worthless instrument in the dumpster.

I was having that problem after cleaning the base and handset. It seems to resolve itself simply by disconnecting the power supply and possibly the phone input line for several hours. I reconnected my phone and it works again.
