Go to crucial.com and they have an online scanner that you can use, ( or you can do the manual search , it isvery easy, and not am not associated with them) which tells you exactly how much you have and how much you can have. unfortunately you can NOT go 2x2 GB , the system would not accept it.

You recommend going to crucial.com which states the opposite of what you say. This computer will take 2gb sticks "in each slot". If a 32-bit system (which I have) it will utilize between 3- 3.5gb of that memory which is still pretty good for this model. Thank you though for the link to crucial.com

As much as yiu can stuff in it. I think the largest at this point is 500GB. I have included a link below for the service manual and specs for that model. Copy and paste the link to your browsers address bar, hit enter. Make sure to make a copy for yourself for future refernce in needed.

Are you looking for a product key to install Windows?
If so there should be a Microsoft label on the bottom of the Acer which has the Product installation key printed on the label.

What is the maximum memory capacity of acer aspire 5600 model

According to the specs of this laptop model, it supports up to 4 GB of DDR2 533/667 MHz memory using two soDIMM modules. This means that you will have to replace the 512 MB memory module already installed in your laptop, & replace it with 2 soDIMM DDR2 533/667 MHz memory modules, each of 2 GB capacity.

What RAM for Acer Aspire 5613AWLMI 533 or 677Mhz?

That being said, I'll make the following comments that will hopefully answer your questions.

The maximum memory for your computer is 4 GB. However, if you are using a 32-bit operating system only 3.7 will be available for the system to use minus however much else you are sharing for the video.

Using 667 memory won't make your processor run any faster; the 533 MHz FSB is set in the processor and using 667 memory won't make the memory run any faster either; it will only run at 533. If you do get just 1 2 GB chip to make 2.5 GB total, make sure it is the same speed as the other chip. Usually it's not an issue but sometimes it can be.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

ACER RECOVERY DVD'S

Well, it would be easier (and cheaper) to download the drivers from Acer's website.
Go to:
http://www.acerpanam.com/flex/acer/bin/acer.html#app=2766&1adb-selectedIndex=0&e590-selectedIndex=1&9875-selectedIndex=1&796e-selectedIndex=1&ae20-selectedIndex=1

and select your exact model. You will find all the drivers there.

As for windows, what version is it upgradable from and to what?

Acer Aspire T-180 Memory Upgrade question

Hello, You might be able to add 2GB more. 1GB per slot. You need to get the model # off your motherboard and verify what the maximum amount of memory it will support. 1GB per slot would be 4GB total but some Operating systems will only support 3GB. So some might be wasted if that is the case. You would need to use the same memory type. So if existing is PC2-4300, use the same. Hope this helps.
